SPEAKER_01

I don't think it's a coincidence that each one of them are nine. There's one just counting spirit. Yes. And then there's also nine gifts of the spirit.

SPEAKER_02

That's cool.

SPEAKER_01

So it's the same Holy Spirit giving you all of this. And through each strengthening of the fruit of the spirit, there's going to be strengths in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which is super awesome.

SPEAKER_00

Hello and welcome to another Fearless Friday. We are so excited as usual to be here to share the Word of God with you. I am one of your hosts, Tina.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm Sarah. Today we are getting into the Word, the capital W-O-R-D Word.

SPEAKER_00

So excited. Last week we talked about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Now we're gonna talk about what he offers to us as believers who have accepted Christ into our hearts, died to our old self to be made new in Christ as a new creation with his spirit.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, because the Holy Spirit is a gift from above, but he also comes bearing gifts. So there's individual gifts that we all get. And the cool part about the Holy Spirit and these gifts is you can ask for all of them, and you're not being greedy. Um He has them for you.

SPEAKER_00

He died to be able to send back his spirit to us so that mightier works we will do than he.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. The Bible says, ask and it shall be given, seeking you shall find, knocking the door shall be open. So when you're in the word, um let God reveal what gifts you are already utilizing. And some might be more profound than others at times. And then um, yeah, because different seasons call for different things in one's life.

SPEAKER_02

So that's good.

SPEAKER_01

Um we're gonna get right into it. We're in 1 Corinthians chapter 12. So if you are in your car, don't worry, don't you know get your Bibles out, get that down later. But if you are have time, this is kind of a Bible study right now. So open up the B-I-B-L-E.

SPEAKER_00

So we're gonna talk about the nine main ones, but like honestly, we're learning gifts are unlimited. Yes, they are unending opportunities. You might have one gift that branches off to another area that branches off to another area. So there's no limit with God, and this episode will tell you all about what that even means.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So we'll start with the nine, and then like Tina said, it's gonna those nine look different in everybody because everybody's different because we're all created in the image of God and not one person looks the same. So it's pretty cool. So this is um 1 Corinthians chapter 12, verse number one says now and I'm in the the living Bible illustrated, the way my like broken 70s Bible and Tina's in um in the ESV.

SPEAKER_00

Um really like the NIV, that's a good one. To I just like the NIV, even though I have the ESV because this was a gift, and yeah, you hear it differently when it's read to you. When you read in different versions, you also hear it differently. Like to you to wiz to knowledge, there is no end. Like you will forever be learning. So that's why we like using different ones that maybe you wouldn't use, so that you can go into your Bible and receive wisdom in a different way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because it's all saying the same thing, just different ways how to say it. Yeah. So it says, and now, brothers, I want to write about the special abilities the Holy Spirit gives to each of you. I don't want any misunderstandings about them. You will remember that before you became Christians, you went around from one idol to another, not one of which could speak a single word. But now you are meeting people who claim to speak messages from the capital Spirit of God. How can you know whether they are really inspired by God or whether they are fake? Here is the test. I would highlight this Heike if you don't got it in your Bible yet. It says, No one speaking by the power of the Spirit of God can curse Jesus, and no one can say Jesus is Lord and really mean it unless the Holy Spirit is helping him. So this is verse number four.

SPEAKER_00

You know, you hear, um I know you've heard Sarah and I talk about like when we get a compliment or someone says something like, Oh, you this what you did, it's really amazing. It's truly, I'm gonna I'm telling you, it is truly not us. Anything good in us has been revealed to us from the Holy Spirit and we speak it out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. It says plain as day right there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Ain't nobody can really mean it or say it unless the Holy Spirit is helping him. Yeah. We pray, Holy Spirit, help every time we get on the spot because we don't want it to be Sarantina. We want it to be the Holy Spirit in and through us, utilizing the bodies of Sarantina.

SPEAKER_00

And that's really truly the only way that he's gonna be able to fill you is if we completely empty ourselves of ourselves, let him speak through us, and then he will speak to you through us, and he will fill you, he will change you, he will grow you.

SPEAKER_01

It's not us. Right, which is why the body of Christ needs one another. We've talked about that so many times. So when we get into these spiritual gifts, you'll see why each of us need one another. So let's keep on keeping on. Verse number four. Now God gives us many kinds of special abilities, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of all of them. There are different kinds of service to God, but it is the same Lord we are serving. There are many ways in which God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work in and through all of us who are his.

SPEAKER_00

I love this in mine. It says, the same God who empowers them all in everyone. All of the gifts, it's the same God in each person. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

There's a song, it's literally called Same God. He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever. So the same God who parted the Red Sea back in Moses' time is the same God we are worshiping today, the same God that saved Jonah from the belly of the whale that put him in there because he was disobeying and said, Hey, help me, and he wanted to obey now, same God. So if he can do it for all those people, same God who brought Esther for such a time as this, same God who wants to do good work in and through you. And the question is, are you letting him? Amen. So, verse number seven. The Holy Spirit displays God's power through each of us as a means of helping the entire church. And this doesn't mean your church, this means the capital C church. So Tina's church, my church, your church, your friends' church, the people that you don't agree with. Like if they are believing in the same Jesus, then it's that Capital C church because you have to be discerning, especially now in today's age. I mean, the Bible talks about, we've talked about it on the podcast. There are false prophets, they are wolves in sheep's clothing. Yeah, but we're talking about the Capital C church who you believe that Jesus Christ died and is the Lord and savior of your life, and he's coming back again. And the Jesus of the Bible, not the Jesus people be making up on the streets.

SPEAKER_00

And the church is called the bride, and the bride is getting ready for the bridegroom to return, which is Jesus, which is just crazy. And I want to read again my like seven in mine, because it says, To each is given the manifestation of the spirit for the common good. Manifestation is in the Bible. The world has destroyed it with their um with their own uh agenda.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, a hidden agenda. So that's the thing is the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. So he knows all of this. He knows the Bible front and back. And there's a lot of believers who don't know it. Forgive them for they know not what they do. I pray that this encourages you to read your Bible. It's not condemnation, it's conviction through the Holy Spirit to read your Bible more and more. Because if manifest manifestation is in the Bible and it's utilized in God's word, how much more is the enemy using that to twist and turn to make it his agenda? Because the enemy, his he is the father of lies. He's speaking his native tongue. So he's saying, Oh, you can manifest your life. False. False, the Holy Spirit uses manifestation in and through you, and it's the Holy Spirit, not the spirits, lowercase S. This is the Holy Spirit, capital S.

SPEAKER_00

And unfortunately, the world is using that to help people believe that they can, the people can do it and receive abundance of you know, cash flow coming in.

SPEAKER_01

Self-loth, self-um serving, yeah, it is self-righteousness, it is idolizing oneself, it is uh putting yourself as the God of your own life.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and it's not to get too far off track, but you're making me think like everyone is living in I can do it, I got this. It's me, I can do this, like it's me, it's my power. It's like, no, you're gonna exhaust yourself if you if you utilize it in that way. And so just wanted to touch on that for a minute. Like, you can do this with Christ. I can do all things through Christ who lives in you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, who strengthens me, who strengthens you. So you can't do it by your own strength. We're only so strong. And when you come to the end of yourself, that's when the Holy Spirit will take over. It's like, hey, I've been waiting to help you this whole time. And now you finally, you know, come to the end of I can't do it anymore. And then he propels in in and through you.

SPEAKER_00

So I one prayer that I love to pray, I pray it for my kids right now, is I pray that they have a desire to want to read the word. I pray that I have a desire to want to read the word. Some people just they just don't, they don't know. I didn't know about it. No one told me about the Bible until we went through the Indiana Dunes Great Banquet. And then I was like, wait, this is actually fun. This is exciting. So it's a simple one-line prayer. Lord help me have a desire to want to read the Bible.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. The Holy Spirit, when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He changes your palate for things of God. So your taste buds change. So you no longer want to do the things you used to do. You want to do the good things that God has called you to do. And one of them is reading the word. So you might not like it now, but just keep on trusting the Lord each and every day. And that will start to change. And just like anything, you form a habit and consistency with action equals results. So if you just do one sentence a day, maybe then it turns into one chapter a day. And then, you know, you're going through the whole Bible. Yeah. Just one small step. You don't have to see this daunting 66 book book in one and be like, I have to read all of this. You guys are crazy. It's like, no, just one step at a time.

SPEAKER_00

One basic instruction at a time.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Amen. All right. We are continuing on. This is verse number eight in First Corinthians chapter 12. To one person, the spirit gives the ability to give wise advice. So now we are getting into the gifts, okay? Says someone else may be especially good at studying and teaching, and this is his gift from the same spirit. He gives special faith to another, and to someone else the power to heal the sick. He gives power for doing miracles to some and to other power to prophesy and preach. He gives someone else the power to know whether evil spirits are speaking through those who claim to be giving God's messages, which would be discernment, or whether it is really the Spirit of God who is speaking. Still another person is able to speak in languages he never learned, and others who do not know the language either and are given the power to understand what he is saying. It is the same and only Holy Spirit who gives all these gifts and powers, deciding which each of us should have. So he decides.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Wow. That was that was a lot. And I'm gonna read the main, the nine main gifts. And I mean, I like how you said in the first sentence about wisdom, and then you branched off about teaching. Like you have a lot of people who have knowledge and they try to teach, and then you have the people who have the wisdom and they teach. I think it's a completely different experience. Yes, completely different experience, and it goes hand in hand.

SPEAKER_01

It's it says studying and teaching. So um Pastor Jerry Flowers talked about this on his serve Sunday service. Um, he's doing a series about apologetics calling Prove It. Uh, highly recommend, but he's saying you want your pastor to study the word, you want your pastor to bask in prayer, you want your pastor to know what context and all the history about it, but like you don't want to do the work for you. So you're taking everybody else's word for it, but you don't know the word for yourself. And that's why we get into false prophets because you're taking, you're glorifying the pastor rather than glorifying the word.

SPEAKER_00

That is so crazy that you said that. And I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but there have been three instances since I've read the scripture test everything against the word of God. Man, it's it's kind of like patience. Don't ask for patience because he ain't just gonna hand it to you. He's gonna give you situations where you have to learn to be patient. I thought I was patient until I was raising three teenagers. I'm not patient yet. Yet is the key word. As I would not as patient as I would like to be. But when I started listening to very wisdom-filled leaders, I realized, like, wait, that scripture isn't in that book. I think he did the wrong scripture. And then I went and looked it up and it reminded me of two things. One, past our pastors are not gods. They are pastors, they're humans, they they still make mistakes, they still sin, right? And number two, like, also, you have to have your own relationship with the Lord. You have to have your own relationship with this book to be able to easily discern, which is one of the gifts. Oh, no, no, no, that's not right. But also, this is a big one. To the same measure you judge others, you too will be judged. So I thought to myself, gosh, how many times on here have I thought, like, oh, was that right? Did I say it correctly? Did I read the word properly? I don't want to be considered any kind of wolves in sheep's clothing or anything or too prideful. And it's also a reminder for each of you test everything everyone says against the word of God. And know in your heart that when you go to judge another person, I didn't judge them for like, oh my gosh, that was actually Revelation 3.20, not Romans 10.8. And I just looked it up and I said, okay, thank you, God.

SPEAKER_01

And just like the pastor's no different than us. Like, we all do the things that everybody does. He's not God, he's not Jesus. Like, truly, he has opinions, he go has struggles, he has bad days, or she, whatever it may be. So the podcast exists to encourage you in your faith and to lift you up and to come alongside of you as sisters in Christ. And maybe this is a starting point of you to get to read the word with somebody else so you don't feel like you're doing it all by yourself. We're trying to be the body, even though this is virtual. That's the beauty of the uh world we live in. However, like Tina said, like we've been saying, we want you to have your own relationship with God so you can read this for yourself and the Holy Spirit can give you revelation through your own eyes and your own ears because you're hearing a third party right now.

SPEAKER_00

And you can even what you hear and receive from, you know, I wouldn't I try not to go up to people and say, God told me this about you. I I that to me is like, how do we 110% know that God told us something? And we don't ever want to lead another brother or sister into strain or sin, right? Like the dream you had talked about. Someone had someone had informed you that they had a dream about you and this is what it meant. God told me this is what it meant. Had she followed that, really truly followed that, she would have been with the wrong man.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Which is just mind-blowing. Ask her about it sometime off camera, maybe if you want people.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Just to share God's story. Yeah, it's a testament to God using the body, but there's mistakes in the body because we all fall short. We all are sinners who need a savior and we all make mistakes. And it did mean something, but it wasn't the meaning that they had given. So more on that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So that's where you say, okay, God, that's what I was getting to. Thank you, Jesus. Um, thank you, Holy Spirit. If you hear something, ask God. Like, God, is this from you? I had a situation recently where it came up and I was like, oh, do I say something? Do I not? I don't want it to be gossip. I want it to be true. I want it to be from you. Help me, Lord. And I sat on it for about three days. And finally it came up super random, but nothing's random with God. I opened my prayer book and I saw like literally the answer. And I was like, okay, so I called the person and it was, she said to me, I'm so glad you shared this with me because this is such important information for the livelihood of people. And I was like, okay. And so those three days, oddly enough, three days, were so important that you that I waited and listened and heard. And you know, I prefaced, I said to her, I said, this is what I'm receiving, but test it against the word of God. So I just think that's really that's it's a journey. It's a it's a journey. So I'm gonna share the the nine base, not basic, but nine gifts.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the pillars. The nine pillars. Thank you. You're welcome. Thank you, Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

That's that life-wise learning.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so we have what like what builds people up and is more on the prophetic side. And if you go, we should find the Joel and Peter or whatever it is where it says young men and women. You can find that while I'm reading this.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So let's just backtrack really quick. So there's two things that Tina's gonna do because there's two categories, because there's certain things that are for prophesying in the gifts, and then there's certain things to show the Holy Spirit's power. Because you need there's miracles to be seen and um things that happen in the Holy Spirit power, and then there's um wisdom in the Holy Spirit power. And when they're both colliding, I mean you're having a prophetic, wisdom-filled miracle. And then there's certain times that you need one, and there's certain times you need another. And so she's gonna get into um the nine and which one goes in which category.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And then I can go to Joel.

SPEAKER_00

It's Joel, yeah, it's Joel too. Okay. So we have build and prophesy. Prophetic is one discerning, wisdom, tongues, and the interpretation of tongues. And then on the testify or power side would be power, faith, healing, and miracles. And I want to touch just for a hot second on healing and miracles. So we got to hear a testimony yesterday, and I already, in my heart of hearts, know that this is the power of God, but I just want to share this with you because if you really pay attention, there's so much power in healing in this miracle. Okay. So we had a guy, we heard his testimony, and he um he told us how he was really um in agony over something. And he didn't even realize he was actually in agony over it until he got to basically really lay it at the feet of Jesus, nail it to the cross, like get rid of it. So before he did this, he had this like painful abscess in his mouth, like painful, like it was so hard to eat. It was so hard to do all the things. He almost didn't like come to this retreat. And then, like, oh my gosh, how am I gonna, you know, whatever, power of prayer, all the things. So then he nailed this thing to the cross. And then shortly later that evening, he realized his pain was completely gone. And I share that story with you. He tells it a little bit better than I do because it's his story, but I share that with you because I think we have, we hear miracle or we hear raised from the dead, or we hear, and we almost get a little like that's a little witchy or scary, or only God can do that. And I want you to know that Jesus left earth on a cross, came back three days later, raised up, and then was raised up. And then in the book of Acts, he brings his Holy Spirit back to us.

SPEAKER_01

So it is God doing the healing and the faith and the healing and the miracles and all of that, but it's through his people as well. He can do it, but he's using people like Moses. He used Moses to part the Red Sea. It was God's power and miraculous uh power to part the Red Sea, but it he was using a person to do it.

SPEAKER_00

And yeah, so do you want to read the Joel? Because this is cool too. He used Joseph, he used Daniel, yeah, and those are definitely only through the wisdom of God giving them dreams and visions, would they have known this? And even they didn't know what it meant. Some for a lot of years.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So this is Joel chapter two. We're gonna go, excuse me, we're gonna go to verse number 26. Starts with, Praise the Lord who does these miracles for you. Never again will my people experience disasters such as this. So obviously, you would have to read all of Joel to, you know, what exactly he's talking about here, but the relevancy of twenty seven through thirty two is prevalent now. And you will know that I am here among my people, Israel, and that I alone am the Lord your God, and my people shall never again be dealt a blow like this. After I have poured out my reins again, I will pour out my spirit upon all of you. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Stop for a minute.

SPEAKER_00

Sons and daughters. We need to be very clear on that. The word of God says sons and daughters.

SPEAKER_01

So just because you're a female doesn't mean you can't be used by God by teaching or preaching. They're hand in hand.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

All right. However, in that in the household, you know, healthy families create healthy communities. Healthy communities create a healthy country. So with that, the head, it's God, then the husband, husband, then the wife, then the children, and then everything else. So that has to be emphasized because people are like, they say that women are better. No, we're all equal. We are both created images in the glory, the image of God. Anywho, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I just saw husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. That's funny. That's just one point that out.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. And wives submit to your husbands. That's a whole other thing we'll get into. We've done certain like uh podcast episodes regarding the roles of husbands and wives and men and women.

SPEAKER_00

So if you want to, you know, it's just wild that it says love your wives and then your wives submit.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Which is just like you have to love them first as Christ loves the church.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, because women want love and men want respect. Yep. That's also another we have a podcast episode on that, I'm sure. All right. So let's just back it up a little bit. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men see visions. And I will pour out my spirit even on your slaves, men and women alike, and put strange symbols in the earth and sky, blood and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31. The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon to blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord shall come. So this is a prophesying when Jesus is coming back in the Old Testament. Don't quote me, but like I'm pretty sure. Yeah, more than a whirlwind of dramatic literature, the prophecy of Joel is evidence of the awesome God at work in this planet. So my Bible has like a little backdrop of like what you're about to read. So I just wanted to share that with you because God's fury seems overwhelming. He turns into love and announces the coming of the Holy Spirit. So that's what this is all about.

SPEAKER_00

So God, his word is so good. And I just read as you were talking, because I think it's important to be able to discern, God gave us a spirit, not of fear, but of power and love and self-control. And so in the receiving of all these gifts, we must realize that it's God's spirit, it's God's power, it's God giving us the self-control. You know, there are false prophets, there are people who will use the gifts of God to be able to monetize. And I'm not saying as Christians, we should be not utilizing our gifts and charging accordingly, but if you look out there, it's really confusing sometimes to know who has the gifts and are they using them properly. And I think that's where discernment comes in.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So if you are going to get your tarot cards read or your horoscopes done, your palm readings, um, things of that nature, sure, that could look like wisdom, that could look like teaching, that could look like prophesying.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

But it's not the capital spirit of God. That as spirits, those are being used by the enemy. And it's gonna give you what you what they know about you because the same God sees everything and he's omnipotent. He's yesterday, today, and forevermore. But there's also the enemy that prowls around like a roaring lion waiting to kill, steal, and destroy your entire life. That is his mission.

SPEAKER_00

And he's heard every single thing that you have ever spelt.

SPEAKER_01

So he has eight, he has his own little, you know, the fallen angels. Those are his minions, if you will, that are assigned to you at birth that are following you around and study you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So as much as you're doing whatever you want to do, you need to be studying the lore. This isn't like you should do this, but when you know the word for yourself, then you have armor, you have weapons, you have tools in your tool belt to use when the people who the enemies, the principalities of this world are studying you and using your weaknesses to get after you. Because, oh, here's a situation. So now the situation in your life, you are tempted to go back to things that you used to go to, but now you're in Christ. So you have the tools, you have the wisdom, you have the revelation to do something different. So it's always a choice. I mean, that's why God gave us free will. Uh so with that is knowing God for yourself and making sure you're studying his word because there are people, there are principalities of the air that are not for you studying, studying your every move.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And as much as throughout this, I don't know, I would say probably two seasons, if you will, we have talked a lot about being filled with the fruits of the spirit. We have ingrained it hopefully into your hearts and your minds. Peace, joy, patience, which which is also called long-suffering, kindness, gentleness, self-control, right? Now we want to and kids. Thank you. I figured you'd get that in there for me if I forgot one. Um, now we want to teach you about the gifts: prophetic, discerning, wisdom, tongues, interpretation of tongues, power, faith, healing, and miracles. I don't think it's a coincidence that each one of them are nine.

SPEAKER_01

There's that spirit, yes. And then there's also nine gifts of the spirit.

SPEAKER_02

That's cool.

SPEAKER_01

So it's the same Holy Spirit giving you all of this, and through each strengthening of the fruit of the spirit, there's going to be strengths in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which is super awesome.

SPEAKER_00

That's amazing. That's so cool. What a great revelation of wisdom that the Lord just gave you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, thank you, Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

And testing it against the word of God. Like this is literally a Bible study in real time.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_00

And that's what's so exciting about his word. He wants to give you so many gifts because he loves you.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. So we could keep going, you know, we're only halfway through chapter 12. We ended at 1212 in First Corinthians, but we have absolutely touched on this. This is talking about the bodies, and the body has many parts. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So I think we Yeah, I'm gonna share a little bit just what I have learned because I have gone to different um events, retreats you have as well, where they're they are speaking in tongues. And I just want to touch on that for a minute because I've done my own research. So there is um tongues, when you're speaking in tongues, generally speaking, according to the word of God, speaking in tongues is your direct relationship with the Lord.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, your own heavenly language, if you will. So that you know how Tina just mentioned when you're speaking things, the enemy can hear. This is a heavenly language that he cannot understand. So when you're speaking in tongues, the only person that knows what you're saying is God.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I had a situation happen about a week or two ago, and I was just worshiping at this place and I was just praising the Lord. And all of a sudden, like literally out of nowhere, my mouth just started doing that very quietly. It's not dramatic. I'm not loud. It's it's between me and God, but it just started happening. And I'm like, oh, okay, well, we'll just go with this, right? Well, then within four minutes or less, I just had stopped. And then within like four minutes, there was a huge um distraction of somebody that had done something to themselves and we had to call 911. And I was like, oh, that's that's what you were doing. Like he filled me with it to speak out before it had happened. The person is okay, everything is fine as it can be for this moment. But once he gives you those gifts, realize that that tongue is for you and him. Okay. So that's number one. Number two, um, being prophetic.

SPEAKER_01

So let's say it's an interpretation of the tongue. So you need one and the other. This cannot be done without the other interpretation. So two different kinds of tongues. Yes. So one is the heavenly language between you and God. Nobody else needs to know what that is. You don't even know what that means. Yeah. And then there's another. So let's just use Tina and I for example. So let's say Tina's speaking in tongues and it's to edify the body of Christ. So she would be doing this in front of people to and speaking in tongues, and then there would be somebody who has the gift of prophesying who's there to interpret the the tongue that she is saying. So if she's saying something, and then let's say I would be the one telling the body what she just said. Yeah. And again, testing everything because God's not going to say something that contradicts his word.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, absolutely. And so the gift of tongues is that's a really good description. And then I want to go into a little bit of the gift of prophecy and how to be very, very scripturally sound, honoring God. When Sarah had that dream, she had called, or not Sarah, when the person had had the dream called Sarah, Sarah called her sister in Christ, like, hey, I need some prayers. Like, can you help me with this? And I thought for a minute, and God immediately, immediately gave me what that meant. And I was like, that's not like he is inaccurate. And I'm sorry that he's done that. What I actually believe it is, is this.

SPEAKER_01

And it so was that.

SPEAKER_00

Sarah prayed about it, Sarah waited, Sarah knew, Sarah like did all her things with the Lord. And it was what, six months later that the thing that God had given me came to fruition. And so that prophetic gift isn't something to be abused or used or anything other than this is what I have received, please take it to the Lord. This is the dream I had. Please have your own relationship with the Lord. And I pray that if anybody has ever done or said anything over your life, spoken words, death and life are in the power of the tongue and it's it's hurt you and you're unhealed, just know that that was not from God.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. Amen. Uh, two things I want to touch on while she said that. One is now we've talked about the body because we need one another. We are not meant to be an isolation nation. We're meant to be, you know, more spaghetti, less regretty. Well, and like you doing life together.

SPEAKER_00

Like you said, the devil riles around like a prowl. Rowls around like a roaring lion. So a a lion does not attack another animal when he's with his people. Yes. He attacks it when he when the little animal goes off on its own.

SPEAKER_01

And he strays away. Just, you know, we're talking about Jesus being the good shepherd, or just think of a shepherd and sheep. When the sheep wanders off from the 99 and there's a hundred and one goes away, the shepherd goes after the one, and the 99 stay around. Like, he's not con he's concerned, he loves them all, but he's concerned about the one who's straying away and will go grab him to yank him back where he's meant to be, where he belongs. So when he does come back, it's an exciting, exciting thing. It's not like, I can't believe you left. It's like, thank you that you are home. Welcome home. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

But every gift, the greatest of all of this is love. So if you have the gift of prophecy, if you have the gift of tongues, but you don't have love, then it's doesn't matter. Uh the Bible says it's like a gong, like it's just banging and it's for no reason, there's no purpose. You must have love. There's no reason to have these gifts if we're not doing it all in love. And then speaking about prophecy, because some of it is like foretelling or for a shadow of what is to come. And sometimes, I mean, the Bible says that prophesying is he wishes we all would have the gift of prophecy. That's, I believe, Paul talking. So it says, prophecy, this is First Corinthians chapter 14. Um, I want to just touch on a few, and I'm gonna skip around so you could do your own uh studying. This is verse number nine. In the same way, if you talk to a person in some language he doesn't understand, how will he know what you mean? You might as well be talking to an empty room, which is why the gift of prophecy, interpretation in tongues, it is totally meant to edify the body. So strengthen the body so they can rise up in Christ and be ready for the bridegroom. Because we have to be equally yoked with Jesus Christ and his bride. So until we are ready to be equally yoked, we will not be prepared or ready for the coming, the second coming of Christ. And so that is why it talks about this is now um verse number 22 in 1 Corinthians 14. So you see that, see the beginning. I'm sorry. So you see that being able to quote speak in tongues is not a sign to God's children concerning his power, but a sign to the unsaved. However, prophecy, and this is in um quotes, preaching the deep truth of God, the deep truths of God is what prophecy is. Aren't you ready? Or oh my gosh, I'm botching it. Forgive me. So, however, prophecy, preaching the deep truths of God is what the Christians need, and the unbelievers aren't yet ready for it. Even so, if you are an unsaved person or someone who doesn't have these gifts, come to church and hears you all talking in other languages, he is likely to think you're crazy. Yeah. But if you prophesy preaching God's word, even though such preaching is mostly for believers, pause. That's why sometimes when you bring somebody else and they're like, you know, I went to church, but I have no idea what's going on, or like I'm I'm here, I'm sitting here, but I don't understand it. I had a friend who's coming to my forefront right now. She was there, but she didn't understand it until she was in, she was a believer, until she gave her life to Christ. It's not gonna make sense. It's like we're speaking English right now. Somebody who's never heard Portuguese before is gonna be like, I have no clue what you're saying. If you're speaking Jesus and you've never heard any of this before, it's going to be like we're speaking a different language. That's why prophecy is to edify the body of Christ, to strengthen, and believer, unbelievers aren't ready for it yet. It just said it. Um, continuing on, and un it's from and mostly for believers. And an unsaved person or a new Christian comes in who does not understand about these things, all these sermons will convince him of the fact that he is a sinner and his conscience will be pricked by everything he hears. As he listens, his secret thoughts will be laid bare and he will fall down on his knees and worship God, declaring that God is really there among you, which is your own revelation of I am a sinner who needs a savior. Because so often, especially for people who have grown up in the faith, I use this analogy at school the other day with my students. You know, if you're on YouTube, I'm just gonna hold up one piece of paper. And yes, it's a little dingy, but I want you to imagine it's pure white. This is Jesus. Jesus is pure white. And let's say you just um got saved, you got baptized, you're going to retreats, you're reading the Bible. So you used to be black, but now you're turning different shades. So now you're this, I'm holding up a purple um paper right now. And you start to get lighter because you're sinning less. So your colors are changing, you're becoming more Christ-like, pure. But we will never get to pure as white. God sees us as white as snow, He cleanses us, but our sins next to Jesus are filthy rags. So no matter who you are, what you've done, we're never going to look perfect like Jesus. So even if you stop doing everything and you follow the Lord with your whole heart, your whole mind, wholeheartedly for five ever until God takes you up, you still will fall short because nobody is as perfect as Jesus. That making sense? Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

It is. And I think everyone should realize that that is where they are at. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

And that's why we all fall short. So your sin is no better or no less than somebody else's. We are called to be sinning less. That is why we are separated from the world versus you know being in Christ. There has to be a difference. Yeah. So you're starting to change colors, if you will, but you will never be as pure as white as Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

So first or yeah, 1 Corinthians 14, 1. We're gonna end on this because it's very important. There are much different, many different versions. So look up in your version what this says. Pursue love and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. In another version, it said, earnestly covet that you will receive these gifts. And we want this for you. We desire this for you. Because if more people are being built up and edifying God, we're getting the bride ready to meet the bridegroom Jesus, we're getting the church ready, we're building one another up so that when he does come back, you won't see your really, you know, your distant cousin or your good friend, and he won't look at you and say, Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell me? And that is why we are trying to lead, guide, and teach you the best way we know how to love Jesus and desire the gifts that he has for you because his spirit fills you.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. Thank you. Until uh next Fearless Friday.
