Hello and welcome to another Fearless Friday. We are overjoyed to be talking with you today. I'm one of your hosts, Tina.
SPEAKER_00And I'm Sarah. Today we are gonna just all all Bible, all things Bible in multiple different versions to hone in on what it means to take your thoughts captive.
SPEAKER_01Yes. What we say to ourselves, whether it's quiet or out loud, what we say to our kids, what we say to our family, what we say to our friends, what we say to our enemies, what we say to everybody matters. Yes. For ourselves, our health, and for others, for their selves, for their health, for their hearts, their minds, their bodies, and their souls. We have the ability to love people with our words or hate people with our words.
SPEAKER_00Oh, absolutely. And so with that, we're gonna talk about how to take your thoughts captive and give you tangible ways of instead of thinking one way, turning it around to make your thought obedient to God. There is that's biblical. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_01Yes, there is a side that it's huge that it's biblical. There's scientific that when we take something away, we have to fill it with something else. Like our brains need to fill it with something else. So you might, you know, we teach take the thought captive, and you know, Sarah does the if you're watching on YouTube where you swipe your forehead and flick the thought away, but now there's an empty space where that thought was. So you need to immediately replace it with what God says about you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we want to go a step further. So after you wipe away that thought that does not serve you any longer, replacing it with what God says about you and speaking that over yourself, whether it's out loud, whether it's in your mind, it's way more powerful if you're able to speak it out loud, even if it's just under your breath. Nobody has to know what you're doing. Yeah, you know?
SPEAKER_01And that's the big thing too. You you do this, I do it quietly, or I do it in just in communion with God, not with everyone else. No.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Or if you are in a position where you can write it down, that's even better. Because what you write, you invite. We have so many of these little spiels that are for you today. Write, invite. Uh, your words create your world. That's another one we have.
SPEAKER_01Um, I have written so many journals, so many dreams and visions, like it says in Habakkuk about writing things on tablets. And then I look back and I find that certain things have come true, and that's the what you write, you invite. You truly invite it into your world.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So let's go to scripture and see what that says. And this isn't the ICB. If you're like, I've never heard of that before, it's because it's the kid version. It's the International Children's Bible, and it says, be careful about what you think. Your thoughts run your life. Your thoughts run your life. So you got to be careful about what you're thinking because what you're thinking, if it's in your head, it drops into your heart. And then out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks, and then you're speaking and you're running towards that which is your life, running the race of your own life. So another same, this is Proverbs 423. Same exact verse, just in a different version of the Bible. This is ESV. Keep your heart with all vigilance, from for from it flows the springs of life. Let's do another one. This is the message, a little lengthier. Keep vigilant, watch over your heart. So I picture right there, just like, okay, this is me watching over my heart, like having binoculars like, okay, what's going on up in there today? Because it that's where your life starts. That's what it continues on to say. It says, Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth. I gotta pause. Have you ever been in a conversation with somebody and they're like, oh, I'm gonna plan for this? And then they are like, you know, and then the reality of like we could all drop dead tomorrow. It's like, dude, so like what are you saying? Um, you making the plans ain't making no sense because you're right, we could all drop dead tomorrow. Jesus could could could come back today. So you're speaking out of both sides of your mouth in that one sentence of you want a plan, but you know that you aren't the planner.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. Um give us this day our daily bread. Bread is the word of life, the word of God.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and if that is God's plan, then you pray, you know, let the Lord's will be done. Anywho, so let's keep going. This is the message version 423 through 27. So that says that's where life starts. Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth, avoid careless banter. So just saying whatever you want to say and it, you thinking that it doesn't have an effect on anybody else. We'll get to that in a second. White lies and gossip. So Tina had a really good point of what you say over somebody else could become their own truth, and then they walk and live in that, which is why we always need to go to the truth, the capital T truth, the Bible, because if you believe God's truth, the Holy Spirit, Jesus' truth over you, then you can take the thoughts of other people captive, replace it with the word of the Lord, and know that that is what God has for you, not what somebody else has said or declared over you. So you were saying that right before we started.
SPEAKER_01As I as you were talking, I mean, there's so many examples of situations where I've seen people speak things over people, and then they start to become that, whether it's good or bad. And I think of this is a silly scenario, but as as kids, as people, we're very impressionable, and we don't realize the effects that things people say have on us. And I remember one time I was super little, I don't know, maybe seven or eight, and I didn't get to see my biological father very often. I talked about father wounds a couple um a couple weeks ago. And we were all sitting at a table. He him and his wife would always uh foster kids, so there was always a bunch of kids at the house. And my brothers were there too, and I never liked milk. I didn't want to drink it. It's disgusting to me. I don't like milk either. I just don't, I never have liked it, although I do like farm fresh milk. Anywho, digress. So um I remember saying, like, I don't want milk, I just want water. And she across the table, what felt like there was like 15 people across the table, she looks straight into my eyes and says, My stepmom, that's why your teeth are so yellow, because you never drink milk. And I remember in that moment, I'm like, well, now I'm definitely not gonna drink milk, but also being very concerned about my teeth. Like being so concerned. Like, I once I got old, once I was old enough, I would get those crest white strips and I would do them so much that my teeth would hurt.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. So I'm sorry that that happened to you. And know that you're you now are healing your younger self. So praise God for that. And you're not gonna tell somebody that their teeth are yellow because you learn from somebody else's mistakes that you would never want to do what somebody else did to you.
SPEAKER_01Or, or on that note, it's funny because now I have teenage boys and they're not the greatest at brushing their teeth. And so I have gone a different approach. I'm more gentle with how I speak to them. Like long term, what do you want in your life? I know we're talking about teeth, but it's never about the teeth. It's not about the thing that we're talking about, it's about the bigger picture, which is how do we speak to people? How do we present it to them? And then we let God sort it out. Yes. Like you're in my I'm stewarding you for this short time, and then you go out into the world, and if you don't want to brush your teeth ever again, don't brush your teeth ever again. I don't care. But I do feel in my head sometimes that judgment on people's teeth. And I have to consistently like take it to God, take it captive. Lord, take this thought and you sort it out and you teach them and lead them and guide them. That was a way weird digression, but did that make sense?
SPEAKER_00It did, yes. In the sense of anything, but because it goes back to don't talk about both sides of don't talk out of both sides of your mouth, avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. So when you're saying to somebody else about someone else, like, oh, can you believe so-and-so is doing this? And can you believe that they're that they're with that person and they're doing this? You're speaking over that. So like even if they don't hear it, that's what's coming out of your mouth because that's what's in your heart. So it's a heart posture thing. Um, and we're gonna keep going because in a different translation, it talks all about your heart, which we've said it before, but let's keep going with the message. It says, keep your eyes straight ahead, ignore all sideshow distractions. So what Tina said, it doesn't matter what somebody else thinks about you or says about you. Um, keep your eyes straight ahead, straight ahead on the narrow path to Jesus, what he says about you, what you are called to do, what because it's not the comparison thing you're all running your own race, and the farther you go down, the more narrow path, the less people are gonna be on it. And that's just how it is.
SPEAKER_01And there is a way that we can love people while and while we're teaching them, but not everyone wants to be taught, right? So you have to observe even yesterday, somebody went up to somebody who's pregnant and like, I want to touch your belly, and I know some women don't like that. And she's like, Oh, I don't care, but the woman next to her who is not pregnant. I was like, Yeah, that would bother you, wouldn't it, if you were pregnant? She's like, I would just want them to ask and not just come up and touch me. So I'm sharing that story because it's like look at people, look in their eyes, and perceive at least what you can about how you can share things with them, what you can talk to them about, how you can love them instead of just like going at people like you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's last week's episode or a couple weeks ago, we talked about, you know, praying to God before talking to the person. It's very much that. Um the message version continuing for 23 verse 27. Watch your step and the road will stretch out smooth before you. So if you're keeping your eyes locked and loaded on the Lord, keep your step and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left, leave evil in the dust. So whatever it doesn't matter what anybody else is doing. If um, yesterday or a couple days ago, I was watching something about Joyce Meyer, and she's like, was talking about how she was asking God, well, why can these people watch this show and why can these people do this or do that? And she was like, God said, Joyce, you've asked for so much. Like, do you want it? Like, there's different standards for the things that you're wanting. So not comparing again to somebody else's journey of where they are. Maybe God said, You can't eat this anymore, or you can't go there anymore. But another believer or another sister or brother in Christ is still doing those things. Well, thank God conviction doesn't happen to everybody all at once. All of a sudden, we probably crumble in our sin. Uh, but it's not your journey, it's their journey. And if it's a problem with their journey between them and God, God will reveal that in due time when they are able to um do something about it or have that revelation of, oh, this is like what God's saying now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's really good. And, you know, thinking about out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks about Proverbs 23, everything we're reading here, and what we put in to our minds and our eyes and our ears. We've talked about this a lot, comes out of our mouth. She just said it. And there could be one person who lived a just super pure life. Like their parents were pure, their grandparents were pure, like, and then all of a sudden, like you have this conversation with them, and you're thinking one thing that's maybe not so pure, even if it's not bad. In your mind, you've been talking about this for 20, 30 years, but they hear it and they're like, Whoa, like, where did that come from? It's not it's just we're all in a different place, and we have to be so careful about what we say and how it comes out.
SPEAKER_00Yes, for you, because you're only ever giving somebody else what you're giving yourself. So it that in itself is making sure that you are good with you, like you are good with God, so you can be good with you. So then you could be good with everyone else because it starts with you, it's never about you, but it's always about you and your heart posture. It doesn't say guard your friend's heart, it says God guard your heart. And while Tina was talking, I got this aha, holy woe of um an analogy. So if you live in northwest Indiana or anywhere that you need a filter for your water, because it'll taste gross if you don't, right? Um, what maybe you have well water, maybe you can drink out of the tap water. That's awesome. So out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. So think of you're turning on your water to put into. I have a uh what's it called? Uh it's a Awala, Adwala. No, no, no. It's um like it literally has a purifier in it. It's called a pura, like P-U-R-A. You can get them at Target or like a Brita, okay? Um, so it has a purifier inside to make the water clean and fresh and good and takes all the ick out. So then you could drink it. So you have a hose or you have you're getting water. So maybe that water that you're getting is from the tap, and that tap water is contaminated, it's full of yucky stuff. So you have to have that pura, that brita, that purifier before you drink it. Because once you drink it, it's going into your system and it makes you you because you need water to live. And so God is the ultimate purifier. He is the refiner, he's purifying everything that is coming in flow of your life. He is the living water. So you can't drink bad water and expect good things to come out. So you have to have good purified water filtered with the Holy Spirit to have good things flow out of your mouth. Is that making sense?
SPEAKER_01That is the most phenomenal analogy.
SPEAKER_00That was the Holy Spirit. Yeah, that was the Holy Spirit.
SPEAKER_01We were talking about reverse osmosis water lacking. Jeffrey thought it was osteoporosis. I'm like, what did Nate say? Reverse osmosis. Anyways, that is just holy woe. Like so you need so good. The more you read him, the more you pray for your friends, he totally connects you in joy and love and peace. There is such a difference between loving people, praying for them, and reading your Bible, and then people who gossip.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01This is such a different sensation.
SPEAKER_00Case in point, the purifier. So this is the purifier of our life. So out of the overflow of our heart, because this is getting into your heart, the head, heart, hands we continuously talk about on here, you're you're reading the words. So it's getting into your noggin because it's your eyes. That's a gateway. And then from there, it drops into your heart. But you have to be very careful that there's not a bend in between your head and your heart because you could know it all day long. But if you don't feel it inside of you, then you're just a know it all, but you're not doing anything about it. And faith without works is dead. You can't have doing good works, but you aren't saved by your good works. You're saved by faith. And you need, and if you have actual faith, you're going to be propelled to do good works. So it's one and the same. Anyhow. Like amazing. With that, is somebody who's gossiping, they're probably reading magazines or reality TV. Those are the gateways that they're doing. And it's just around. So that's what's filtering their water that's coming out of their mouth.
SPEAKER_01Or they're surrounded by it.
SPEAKER_00So it's like word vomit. You don't want word vomit. You want Holy Spirit spaz. Like people just be spitting out the word.
SPEAKER_01Went from hot and holy to Holy Spirit spaz. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00God is so good. We're having fun up in here. I hope you guys are too, wherever you're at.
SPEAKER_01And you know, it's also to who you surround yourself with. Like if you surround yourself with people who talk about other people, you're all gonna be talking about other people. Right. Or one of you is gonna fall away.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because you're all drinking out of the same water fountain. You gotta get a new water fountain, people. You gotta get around people who are drinking purified, holy, living water. And let me tell you, if you're not drinking living water, everything else, you're always gonna be so thirsty. You're gonna be so quenched, you're gonna be like, I need water, like the Spongebob, like water, water. Anywho, millennial things. But if you're not, if you're not drinking the living water and you're surrounded by people who are not, you're going to be just like them. We've said this several different times in several different ways. You are who you hang out with. So, and it doesn't have to be in the physical. This could also be on your phone, what you're watching. So, another thing that I heard over the weekend was if you listen to somebody's sermon and their teachings online, you're gonna start to talk like them, you're gonna start to act like them. Um I realized I was, I don't watch TV, but there was a season in my life where I was like, you know, I haven't watched TV in a long time, and people keep recommending this, and I just want to turn my brain off. I'm tired of thinking. Um, and it was Gilmore Girls. And I started, and she's like super the mom is very, and if you've never seen the show, I'm sorry that this isn't gonna make sense, but this character in the show is like obsessed with coffee. So I found myself drinking way more coffee than I was, and then it gets kind of like weird and like of seasons later. So I'm like, this is just too worldly for where I'm at in the moment. So it's guarding your heart because out of the overflow of it, the mouth speaks. And um, that just it's wisdom from the Lord of like, okay, enough's enough. Like, I need to turn off that faucet and like go back to the living water.
SPEAKER_01And you need to, you had to in that moment make an active choice to turn it off. Yes, to stop putting it into your mind. And I think often throughout the day, you we have choices of what we're looking at and what we're listening to. And I, you know, I struggle with teens, my teens, like my one son just likes music that isn't it, it's a little worldly. So I have to number one pray for him and pray for me. And I don't want to be so far away from him that I can't relate to him. And until he fully chooses to run to Jesus, right? I have to be love to him and say, you know what? Can we listen to a little worship right now? Like I listen, like I let you listen to your music, and it's not the worst thing ever, but like also I need to be a wise steward of my ears and his ears.
SPEAKER_00Your subconscious is picking up everything. So if I said 588-2300, 588-2300. Empire, like you know the thing, like um 678 998212. Like, you just know these things of uh that are subconsciously going in, which is your thoughts. Um, another one, like have it your way. You know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about Burger King. Like, you just know these things. It's propaganda, it's subliminal messaging. So when you're singing these lyrics and you're thinking, oh, I just love the bee, and you're realizing what you're actually saying over yourself, no wonder you wanna, you know, pop, lock and drop it. And then you find yourself popping, locking, dropping. I'm just saying, you're not wrong, and when you're you're not wrong. I dude, if I'm like, get down on it, you're gonna be like, get down on it.
SPEAKER_01I was listening, so I was picking music for 320 fitness class, and we have to it can't have sex, drugs, swears. What else can it have? But that's pretty much it, and um and we pick songs, and sometimes the hidden agenda in even older songs, and the woman was like, Oh yeah, play this song, it talks about this, and I'm like, No way, no way did I listen to this song, and this is what it's talking about. I'm like, Oh my wow.
SPEAKER_00So that's the world's filter, right? So you know all these things, but then the awesome thing is when you start to want the filter of the Lord, when I say God is good, you're gonna go all the time. And then if he ain't, then you lie in. Like you just start to know these different things of that are filtering your mind differently. You're drinking different water, you're deciding that you don't want that ick anymore. So taking your thoughts captive because your thoughts are running subconsciously what you're doing. And we think Tina said this before: most of the thoughts that you're thinking are from like yesterday. So you're thinking yesterday's thoughts on today. So if yesterday was a sucky day and they've been thinking about those things over and over and over, that's why trauma is so it can very much you can be 30 years old, but still be living the same day as if you were still 12 when that happened to you. So we've said this before: you you're 30, but you died at 12 because you keep reliving that over and over and over, and you haven't healed from that trauma yet, which is it's so important to take the thoughts captive and do the work on you so you can go out and be a light to other people. How can you be a light to somebody in a dark place when you're always when you are in the dark too?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00And if you're a Christ follower, you're called to be the light. So let God do that for you. Um, his healing and his um love and care for you, and his purpose and plan because your life is too important for these background things that have happened to you in your past, run your life. Yeah, just because of the things and circumstances that have happened to you in your life doesn't mean that you are deserving of a half a half. The par life, you deserve the full par life that God has for you.
SPEAKER_01Well, and I I'm thinking I hear in my mind, like you are we are God's masterpiece created in Christ Jesus. Like we are imitators of Christ. Like He came, He came, and then He leaves. He's le you know, he left a couple Sundays ago, so He could come back and be and fill us with His Holy Spirit for us to do mightier works than he did. So he created us fearfully and wonderfully made in our mother's womb before we were even born. Here's the crazy part.
SPEAKER_00And that's all scripture. But you wouldn't know that if you don't read the scriptures.
SPEAKER_01And the crazy part is for five months, half of you was in your grandma's womb. Did you know that? Yes. That is amazing. Amazing, amazing, amazing. Fact check me. It's a long story, it's a detailed story, but it's true. So you're like one in a million. And then when you talk about the other half of you and how much comes out of, you know, him with your mom to be able to create you, you're about one in 400 million. So you are a miracle and he created you for a purpose and he has a plan over your life.
SPEAKER_00He does. So what do we do with all of these things that we know by taking all the things that aren't true about ourselves to replace it with what God says about us? So I've had a pastor uh in the past use the analogy of an Uber, like you pay an Uber to take you somewhere. Don't allow your, don't pay your negative thought to take you down that negative road. So let's, for example, if I'm, and there, these are thoughts that I have thought before of like, I don't want to be here anymore. What's the point of life? I I'm fat, I'm ugly, I'm this, that, and the other. All things that don't align with scripture.
SPEAKER_01Ephesians 4.29 says, let no corrupt talk come out of your mouths, but only such as building up as fits the occasion that it may give grace to those who hear.
SPEAKER_00So one, if I if I pay that thought to take me on that Uber, I'm leading to a dead end road. So the dead end leads to, you know, I maybe I want to isolate myself. I'm gonna self-sabotage. I'm not talking to somebody, I'm self-harming. Like these things lead to that because of the negative thought that you first thought. So now let's, what can we do about that thought? Let's say, um, I'm worthless. Well, boop, that is not that is a lie from the enemy. Remember that the devil is a liar. When he speaks, it's a lie. So everything that he is saying over you is false and uh wrong. So now we go to scripture and scripture says, you know, I am the head and not the tail. I am above and not below. So you replace that with, I'm worthless, boop, decaying in that garbage can, and you say, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. And you might not believe it, but you say it until you believe it. And then you pray, God help my unbelief, believe. And this is an awesome thing. Let's go a step further because we want you to stop paying that Uber for the negative thoughts. And we want you to stop taking that train that leads to nowhere when God wants you on his train of righteousness and love and joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There's gonna be stops along the way on that train, but you're going down that one narrow path with this distractions. You just keep on keeping on that track. So with that, um, taking the thought captive, replacing it with God's word. Now you can go a step further. And everyone, most people nowadays have a cell phone, especially if you're watching or listening, you're probably doing it on your phone. There's reminders on your phone. Set a time for your phone to automatically go off. Maybe it's at nine and noon and six or whatever tickles your fancy. Put in a reminder that goes off every single day. Mine used to just say thoughts, and now I've replaced it with thoughts. Like, first of all, what am I thinking about in this moment? And then replacing it with what God says about me or an encouraging word for yourself. Um, one that I have that goes off at 9 a.m. every day. It says, I am capable and confident in Christ. Because it's true. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, which is why it's so important that you're drinking the living water to know these things. Because if you don't know Christ, this probably sounds like an affirmation um sermon to you. And it kind of sort of is, but we are called to speak life and not death. So everything that the world claims to do to help you self-help is all biblical, and they just twist it a little bit to make it their thing when it's all God's thing. So that's all I got.
SPEAKER_01No, I mean, that's so right. I think it's Romans 4.8 or Philippians 4 8. I don't know, one of the eights, and it talks about whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is kind. Either think about these things, yes, meditate on these things. So, yes, the world has taken it into their own hands, but we choose Jesus, we choose the Jesus way, and everything that we are is in Christ. I am worthy in Christ. I am loved in Christ because Christ is in us when we choose to answer the call. When God calls us, we choose to answer the call, and then his Holy Spirit lives in us, and we are the light of the world because he is in us and he is light. And the more we follow him, the more we're like Christ, we realize that we're not only worthy, but others are worthy. That's one of my alarms that says to pray for men from the Indiana Junes Ray Panquet. It's been going off every day at 928 for years. It's being intentional. And I mean, I right now it'd be a quick popcorn prayer, but other days it's longer. Like it doesn't have to be this long drawn out. I think there's a misconception that in order to give gratitude to the Lord, in order to be gracious, we have to get on our knees and pray. Actually, no, it says, in your coming, you're coming, and you're going. Pray without ceasing. And so it's just that little bit. And throughout the day, all of a sudden you're gonna build this habit and you're gonna like I have another one since our light the way event that says I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. And the psalm and what that actually means, you should really look it up and research it for yourself because it's we're we're majestic. Like God made us majestic. Like that's crazy.
SPEAKER_00What's crazy? What is also crazy is I read that today and it talked about what that means. So what I what what you can do if you want a deep dive is break down what fearfully in the Bible means, like Hebrew, Greek, whatever, and then wonderfully, because the book I was reading about was about miscarriages, and how can you say that they're fearfully and wonderfully made? Like something was wrong, so that that human being didn't live. Well, it's awestruck, it's like awe-inspiring, awestruck, and then distinct. So, like everyone is like, no matter what happens, if they see Earth or not, they're still made in the image of God, they are still awestruck and they are distinct. They are different from everyone else, yet they are still made in the image of God.
SPEAKER_01Wow, and that's I'm so glad you brought that up because we went on a college tour with Becca and our the guy that was giving us the tour, somehow we got into this conversation and he basically told this story about his mom who had miscarriages, mom who had miscarriages, and he's you know, older, so it was obviously a while ago, but and it said that when we uh when a woman has a baby, whether it comes to full term and it's you know a 17-year-old or we lose it at any stage, there is essentially a tattoo of that baby in our bodies that never goes away. There's like cells from that baby that never go away. And it's like that baby is always a part of you, which why as a woman it's so emotional, I think, is because of that. It's why when a woman, at least every woman I've ever known that has had an abortion, and when they get older and they like realize and they meet Jesus, truly meet him, and realize what happened, they have regret. Every single one I've ever talked to has regret because of that tattoo, essentially, I'm I'm paraphrasing that was imprinted in your body. And it's, I don't know, side digression.
SPEAKER_00No, it's not a side though, because what's awesome is that thought can go two ways. So we're talking about miscarriages. It's been a topic of discussion for a bit here on the show. However, it can go down to the thought of, well, I'm never gonna have a baby. I'm my body rejected me, my body doesn't do what it's supposed to do. Um, I'm gonna be barren forever. Like those are the thoughts that you could go down, which uh right, like it's valid. I'm not saying that you're but feelings are fleeting. So we don't go based off of our feelings, we go based off truth.
SPEAKER_01And you're going through it, so you can actually speak to it truthfully.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes. So God says we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and you could think that that's a crock of crap when when you're when you're going through something. You that is the trust in the Lord that He's strengthening you and refining you and purifying you while you're going through it. So saying, like, God has a purpose and a plan for me. So he already knew all that was gonna happen. So taking those thoughts captive so you don't go down that dead end road and you keep keep on keeping on on the narrow path God has for you because that's what the enemy wants you to do. He wants to steal, he wants to kill, he wants to destroy. God didn't, God's plan was not, and we talked about this a while ago with Chloe, um, one of the guests on here. God's plan for you was not the miscarriage or the murder or the loss or the car accident or all these different things, but God has a plan for the car accident for the miscarriages. We live in a broken world, so sin has entered, and that's why bad things happen to good people. Bad things happen to bad people. Bad things, you are not um going to be overlooked when bad things happen. Like it's gonna happen to everyone in some form, some fashion. Uh and that's why comparison again, you empathy is a thing, but nobody's ever gonna walk in your two shoes. Nobody's miscarriage, nobody's murder, nobody's loss is the exact same as somebody else's. But we're all human beings and we feel we know what depression is, we know what sadness is, we know what anger is. So we can be there for somebody who's going through that and be the light to somebody, which is why we're called to be the light, which is why, really truly, before we go any further in any other teaching or any other, you know, you are the salt and the light of the world, you really got to take your thoughts captive because it runs your life. We had 8,000 different scriptures, but Proverbs 23, if you want to read more, 2 Corinthians 10 5, Colossians 3 2, Philippians 4.8, 2 Peter 1.19, 1 Peter 1.13, Ephesians 4.23, Ephesians 4.29. But truly, truly meditate on Proverbs 4.23 or any of the ones that we just shouted out because truly get inside your own brain and your noggin and let Jesus go to work. Like decide today, if you're not already doing it, drink more water from the living water than you are any other. Make sure that your thoughts are being filtered by the living water and not what the worldly water is doing. You want a purifier, you want a good pura. You don't want a gross, ugly pura that has mold coming out of it or a brita that is like disgusting. Like, you want some good, yummy water.
unknownAmen.
SPEAKER_00Amen.
SPEAKER_01It is finished. That was everything I was thinking in my head to close with, you just said it. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.
SPEAKER_00Just a little side thing. We came in today, like, what are we saying? We don't know what to talk about.
SPEAKER_01And then we prayed.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Thank you, God.
SPEAKER_01And then he gives it to us. He gives us his words. And you know, if you have thoughts that just keep replaying and replaying and replaying and replaying, we get it. I replayed a stupid thought in my mind, stupid, like very stupid, about something stupid. And all of a sudden, you get to this point when you're like, I can actually choose. I have 60,000 plus thoughts a day, and 90% of them are negative. Like, that's scientific. We all have that. So why wouldn't we want to choose to be on repeat Ephesians, Galatians, First Peter, every other word, Colossians, every other book that she talked about. Because it's the word of God that rings true.
SPEAKER_00Yes. You want the replay, the whole thing stuck on replay to be God's word and what he says about you. And you're not gonna know that unless you read it. So read your Bible. Thank you, Jesus. Yes.
