SPEAKER_00Hello and welcome to another majestic, amazing fearless Friday. We are enthralled to be here today to talk to you. I'm one of your hosts, Tina.
SPEAKER_01And I'm Sarah. We are super pumped. We are gonna talk all about the Holy Spirit today.
SPEAKER_00It is so exciting when you get to a deeper level of understanding of who the Holy Spirit is and what he came to do and how he lives in us and all the things. So not to get too overwhelmed, we're gonna start right in the Bible. We did do an episode on Holy Spirit Activate, and that was amazing. This is very different from that.
SPEAKER_01Not very, because the Holy Spirit is the Holy Spirit, but yeah, I couldn't even tell you what that's about because that's been so long ago. However, the cool thing about reading your Bible and learning, because you're always moving and grooving and learning and having deeper revelation as you grow in Christ, it's just more deeper roots in the Holy Spirit. What's his role? What does he do for us? How do we live in the spirit? So we're gonna talk about all that jazz today.
SPEAKER_00So exciting.
SPEAKER_01Yes. So we're gonna start with um, and this is also gonna be a challenge too. So as we're talking about the Holy Spirit, if um throughout your time, if you're listening to this in the car or on a walk or whatnot, maybe when you're in your own time reading your Bible, highlight all of where the Holy Spirit's talked about in the New Testament and fact check us. Don't just baste our um based your knowledge and revelation off of Tina and Sarah's words. Go to the Bible itself and then um then go to the beginning of the word. The Old Testament talks about the spirit of the living God all the time and how much he just connects because throughout the whole Bible it's all about the Lord and about Jesus. So he has the Holy Spirit that's giving him the power. So before I go too much further, let's go into scripture.
SPEAKER_00Well, and scripture is the breathed word of God, and it goes from God to Jesus and then the Holy Spirit and like all of Scripture. So you want to hear God's voice, you want to have a relationship with God, you read his word, and if you're going, even if you're going in and highlighting all the spots where it says Holy Spirit, you're gonna be blown away at what he has done.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Yes, the triune father God, father, son, father, holy spirit, three and one, but the parts that they play that all intertwine and then how that relates to us as a human being living in this sinful world.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so beautiful. So 14, John 14. I'm gonna start at 16.
SPEAKER_01Let's do it. What I'm sorry, I'm gonna back it up. Let's go to 12. Okay. Yeah, okay. In the solemn truth, I tell you. Okay. That one. Let's do it.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So this is this is so powerful. I've been asking the Lord to reveal to me what this means because I humanly can't make sense of it. In Deuteronomy 29, 29, he will reveal to us what is to be revealed, and there are secret things. So I understand that, but it's so beautiful that he gave me a deeper understanding of this specific verse, John 14, 12. Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do. And greater works than these will he do because I am going to the Father.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So hold on tight because we're gonna. What does that mean? Well, we can't wait to share.
SPEAKER_00Oh my goodness. Should I keep going? Yes. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do. That the father may be glorified in the son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. And you're probably like, oh my gosh, what do I ask for? Like, how do I know? How do I know it's in his name?
SPEAKER_01Well, there's always something attached to it because yes, you can ask about anything using God's name and he will do it, but then there's an if it's attached to. So you can do it if you do this. It's not you do this, but not do that. If you don't do that, you won't get this. It's a two-in-one part, they're interconnected. So you have to do the if.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's almost like the analogy of like a really nice car. Like, oh my gosh, you see these cars, you're like, I really want that car. Okay, great. Does God want you to have that car? Number one, what do you need to do to get that car? And does God want you to do all those things? Like, does he want you to work at that job? Does he want you to be away from your family or whatever it is? Like, yeah, you look at the car and you kind of like lust over it and think you want it, but like, what about everything else that comes along with it? Is that really from the father? Yes, side analogy. Everyone loves cars.
SPEAKER_01So it says, Ask anything using my name and I will do it. exclamation mark. The next verse, if you love me, obey me, and I will ask the father, and he will give you another comforter. Capital C on comforter, and he will never leave you. So the interconnecting is if you love Jesus, then in that love, you will obey because anybody who you truly love, you want to please them, not a people pleaser. You want to be a God pleaser, so you're obeying him. So if somebody's saying one thing but it doesn't align with God's um realm and his rules for your life, his standards, more so, if you will, then the obedience to man, it's an X because you want the obedience of the Holy Spirit and God the Father. So if you love Jesus, you're going to obey his commands, and then the Father will be able to um give you what you're asking for. And sometimes, and most of the time when you love Jesus and you obey him, it's not what you want anymore because you died on the cross with him. So it's Jesus who lives in you. I think it's super important to have that thinking cap on before going into like, well, I've been asking Jesus to heal, and like I've been asking God to do this, that, and the other. And he hears and keep praying. Whatever is in God's will, he's going to do. And it's just not, it might not be on your timeline or the way it it you think it's gonna happen. But if it aligns with his will, with your love and obedience intertwined, then there anything is possible.
SPEAKER_00Wow, that's so there's so many thoughts in that. I love that. And I think of how in a relationship, whether it's a partnership when you're dating or when you're married, or even like a friend relationship, you think about like just we're human beings. So we think about what we want, what we want to have and what we want to do. But in real, in reality, we're thinking about the other person just like we should be thinking about the other person, just like God in this word, he's actually thinking about us. In the whole Bible, he's thinking about us. But I need to be obedient to him just like I need to be obedient into the servant servanthood of my friendship or my marriage. Like sometimes our husbands or wives do things that drive us bonkers. However, we love them through that journey, just like God loves us through our journey. And I will, I want to like, I want to be honest with my husband. I want to be honest with my sister in Christ. Sometimes it hurts, just like the word of God, sometimes it hurts. But ultimately, if you love me, you will keep my commandments. If I love my husband, I'm gonna honor him and respect him.
SPEAKER_01Yes, the word cuts like a double-edged sword, like bone through marrow, it says. So sometimes it's going to hurt and then reveal things to heal and move you into the next phase of your life, but you can't move on until you're healed. And also, Tina, you mentioned um it's not thinking about yourself, you know, more than somebody else. It's God thinks so highly of you, that's why he died for you. If nobody else existed on the planet, Jesus would have still died for you, for me, if nobody else still was there. However, it's we sing, you know, Christian songs of like Holy Spirit make me more like Jesus. Well, what does that mean? More like Jesus, less of yourself. So it's not thinking of yourself less than, it's just thinking of yourself less. Because there's a high standard. You are the head, not the tail. You are above and not below. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, created royal for such a time as this. So you would be like, oh, is the word contradicting? Absolutely not. It is not having that self-arrogance of I'm better than. It is what can I do to serve? And because I follow Jesus, Jesus is a, I mean, he came here super humble. That's a whole other thing. But he one day he will come back for justice. And he, I mean, he is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings. Don't get that twisted. However, he's so gentle, he's not going to force himself on you if you don't want to believe that's your free will, and that's a whole other thing. But anywho, you want to think of yourself as God thinks of you, and in that he will um reveal how to serve people and not be a doormat because there's a there's a line in that where it's like, dude, you want to be a God pleaser, not a people pleaser. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So absolutely, those are great analogies.
SPEAKER_01The Holy Spirit does that. We tend to in our own flesh, like, how can I please X, Y, and Z to get X, Y, and Z.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And it and it says the next verse, 17, is even the spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him for he dwells with you and will be in you. And I think we can really know when the Holy Spirit is dwelling in somebody because it's the peace. There is a peace. Like, I will leave you, I will, I my peace I give you, my peace I leave with you. Like Jesus is peace, and his spirit that he gave you is peace. So I think the difference, the really clear difference between if the Holy Spirit is living in you, is the peace you feel. And you were even talking about like Jesus doesn't condemn us. So even in his conviction, there's a peace, like, oh, he's right. This is what I need to do because I love him and he loves me. And so it's it's fitting all the pieces together of everything we're saying to create a beautiful work of art that we can't try and fit the wrong piece in, or it's not gonna, it's gonna look awkward.
SPEAKER_01Yes. So I'm thinking about the woman at the well. Everyone was ready to cast a stone at her because she sinned, you know, publicly a sexual immorality, and Jesus goes and knows all of these things because he's an omnipotent, he knows it all. However, he's like, let the first person who has never sinned cast the first stone, and everyone leaves. And he's there because he has never sinned and he's a perfect person because he's God. And so he came down to live a perfect life to show us an example of how to live here on earth as it is in heaven. So when he's talking to one of his creations, this woman at the well, who has done all of these sinful sexual immorality things, he he could have thrown the stone at her, but instead, he didn't condemn her by throwing the stone. He said, Go and sin no more. And the revelation she received of how could this human being know any of this about me? He just met me. He has to be the Messiah, he has to be the coming one, the person that they've been waiting for and longing for. And immediately she went up and she told everybody what he said to her because she was in awe and wonder of what Jesus said.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and that's actually one of the one of the gifts that we'll talk about in the coming episodes. Yes. Um, and and what you were just explaining was back in 15. If you love me, you will keep my commandments. Go and sin no more. Yes, and I just that's so beautiful.
SPEAKER_01And we can't do that without the Holy Spirit. There is no such way. We are sinful people that are encapsulated in this sinful body. Our nature, our default is to sin. And when you have Jesus, you die to that default on the cross. So it's like, I'm a human being, I'm born out of my mom's womb, I am default. Think of like your lights are turned off, and then you meet you meet Jesus and you die on the cross because it's you he died for. So you were the one meant to die on the cross. That's what it means to pick up your cross and follow him. I mean, if you think about that, you're picking up this cross that leads to death. It leads to your death of not what I want anymore, not the way I want to live my life anymore. And you're active, actively activating and turning on Jesus' default. So the default is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control through the Holy Spirit. You cannot get those things without the Holy Spirit. The default is all of envy, jealousy, gluttony, um, you name it, that's the default of our sinful nature. Yeah. To turn it on, you gotta have Jesus. And through Jesus, you gain the Holy Spirit. I hope that that's yeah, a good picture for anybody who's like, what's what we talk about?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, absolutely. And I think we'll skip ahead. I mean, read the Bible, it's so beautiful, but we'll skip ahead. And it says in 25, these things I have spoken to you while I'm still with you. So a lot of these parables or these stories or these things that he shared, obviously there's so many he could never write it in the book in his short three years. But the helper, which was the Holy Spirit, which we just talked about, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all the things and bring you to the remembrance that I have said, my peace I live with you, my peace I give with you. And it's crazy because you think about like a relationship. Like that's what this podcast is about is a relationship with the Lord. And God is the triune, God is the Father, the Son of Jesus is the Holy Spirit, and you know, the the Son is Jesus, and then the Holy Spirit, and all of them together are this relationship. Yeah, and they want they all want to have this relationship with you. And it's like he showed us in the Bible how to have that relationship with him, and he even gave us Jesus as a living, breathing example, and then Jesus is telling us, but it's the Holy Spirit. I need to leave because it's the Holy Spirit.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and it's so I mean, Jesus says it over and over so many different areas and ways. If you love me, you will obey me. If you love me, you will keep my commands. I think it's worthy of even going up. So Tina just read chapter 14, verse number 25. If you go up to 23, it says Jesus replied. Um, because before then they're talking about Judas. Girlfriend, boyfriend, all my sisters, brother in Christ. Let's go to 21. This is chapter 14. The one who obeys me. So it's talking about obedience. So the more you obey, the more things are going to be revealed because obedience is equal to love. And what is love is God. So He is the ultimate agape love. So if you want unconditional love, it's through obedience. That's how you receive that and get that.
SPEAKER_00I just read by this all people will know that you are my disciples if you love one another. Yes. As you were saying that. That's that's the Holy Spirit.
SPEAKER_01And that's John verse 30, or I'm sorry, John chapter 13. Verse 35. Okay. Yeah. Um, so this is the one who obeys me is the one who loves me, and because he loves me, my father will love him, and I will too, and I will reveal myself to him. So if somebody doesn't love God or wants to know anything about it, they are blinded. Yes, God's not gonna reveal himself to you. It's kind of like you're not gonna say something to somebody. It's like, you know, the analogy of like, I'm just talking to a wall. Like, people just aren't gonna get it. And it's up to the Holy Spirit to soften someone's heart and reveal for God to reveal himself to that person in his own time. So then go ahead.
SPEAKER_00No, I think about the example with my son yesterday. He was eating like a mass amounts of sugar, and it affects his brain, it affects his activity, you know, affects all the things. And he was being defiant, which obviously teenagers are, but there's a lesson in this. And so he wasn't even listening to me. And so, you know, I snatched away his phone, and later he was like, Can we talk about this? Can we talk about my phone? I'm like, but that's the thing. We're not talking about your phone, we're talking about the the actual action, the sugar, the intake, what you did, and what that what happened because of that.
SPEAKER_01It's actions that have a consequence. What you sow, you will reap.
SPEAKER_00Right. And then I said to him, he goes, Well, just take away all my candy. Fine. I just take away all my candy. I said, But that's the thing. I don't want to. I want the Holy Spirit to work in you to essentially convict you to understand why it's bad for you. Because I'm not gonna come to your college dorm and say, Don't eat all that sugar. Like, God, I mean, yes, God does speak to us, got his Holy Spirit will speak to us, but it's teaching you what the helper will do, how he will help you, and what it looks like, and why we need him. Yes. Like, I need him, my son needs him, she needs him. We all need him in all the different things, especially if you're a believer.
SPEAKER_01I mean, everyone needs him, but believers will understand the Holy Spirit because it's not you who's wanting to change and do all these things. You know, you hear so many stories, testimonies of somebody was one way and then they met Jesus and they're completely different. That is the Holy Spirit. Nobody can, you can't change somebody else. If somebody else could change you, we wouldn't need Jesus, we wouldn't need his Holy Spirit. The world would look different if everybody could change somebody. It's somebody first has to realize that they want to change. Like nobody can change somebody who doesn't want to be changed, and the Holy Spirit is the one that changes a person. So the power of prayer, whole other tangent. Um, but yes.
SPEAKER_00So I think about what you said, and why it's just so powerful. I'm just gonna read what I just read when you were talking about that. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. This is sorry, this is we're in 16 verse 7. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away. If if I do not go away, the helper will not come to you. And that's powerful because we just went through the season of the resurrection. Like, why did Jesus come? Oh my gosh, he died for us. Friday is good because Sunday is coming. What does that mean? The Friday's good because Sunday is coming. Sunday was the Holy Spirit coming and indwelling in us, and so it's not quite yet, because Jesus was still He so Jesus came.
SPEAKER_01I mean, the miracle, the prophecies from all the Old Testament up until Sunday, Jesus was, you know, raised from the dead. Yeah, and then he ascended into heaven 40 days. He was roaming on the earth 40-ish days, then ascended into heaven and he's still teaching. And then the Holy Spirit comes down and breaks out because one person, the Holy Spirit, lives in Jesus, he ascends, and then the Holy Spirit comes down. So now it's like we have millions of Jesuses because Jesus dwells inside of us, and it's not just in the Holy, it's not just in the body of Jesus, is the Holy Spirit and all of the power it is in anybody who believes that Jesus is the way and the truth and the life. You get the Holy Spirit. So the same spirit that lived in Jesus is the same spirit that now lives in you and me when you accept him as your Lord and Savior. And that is why Jesus said, You will do greater works. Why will we do greater works? Because there's multiple people on the planet that now can be Jesus to other people. That's why Holy Spirit make me more like Jesus. Holy Spirit, come like a flood, like a fire. It's not, we don't just say these words because they sound cool or they sound godly. It's true action taking of make me more like Jesus, mold me into your image because he's making you more like Jesus. You hear, like, you know, there's another and the fire. Um, if it wasn't for Jesus, I wouldn't have made it through. I really want you to think that Jesus, like when you are going through something, just put Jesus in front of you. Or like, it's not you. Like, take yourself out of the equation and you're putting on Jesus. And it's like Jesus is the is the one marching you through the miscarriage. Jesus is the one that's marching you through your financial struggles. Jesus is the one helping you pass the test. It's not you anymore. It's Jesus in you, which is his Holy Spirit that he gifted us. That's why it's a capital C comforter, a capital H helper, a capital C convictor, because he is the he's a person, he is an entity. He is a part of the triune Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. So it's not something to be afraid of or shake or not worship uh or thank. I think he gets a really low credit because he never says anything about himself in here. It's Jesus talking and um teaching us about the Holy Spirit. And so it can be very easy for Christians to dismiss the power of the Holy Spirit when truly there is no power if there is no Holy Spirit. Jesus did everything in the spirit with that power. It's like, I got that power, power. That's uh Justin Bieber song, anywho.
SPEAKER_00Um, I love that. I love it. Jesus is so good. And I'm going, I'm bouncing down to um 1612. I still, based upon everything you just said, I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the spirit of truth comes, he will guide you. You into all truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears, he will speak, and he will declare to you that the things that are to come. And I just think that's so powerful. And I was talking with my husband yesterday about that exact thing. Like, we as that's the mightier works, that's the greater works, is the Lord living in us. Jesus is spirit, God's spirit living in us, doesn't even make sense. It's mind-blowing. And when he lives in us, he will speak through us and out to other people. And we're kind of God is giving us the wisdom. Holy Spirit, the Lord, Jesus is giving us the wisdom to kind of set you up to understand what the gifts are moving forward. Like we're not just gonna stop here today, like one episode about the Holy Spirit. Yeah, it's so intense and it's so deep. But this promise of him giving essentially, like, yeah, Jesus died, but he's still alive in you.
SPEAKER_01Yes. So she's in chapter 16 in John. I mean, I'm still honing in on 14. So all of it is so, so you could soak it all up and chew on it and eat it for days. Um, and that's what that's what we're called to do as believers. So I want to go back to um this is chapter 14 in John, verse 23. Jesus will Jesus replied, because I will only reveal, so only I will only reveal myself to those who love me and obey me. You need these two things. The father will love them too, and we will come to them and live with them. So, Father, Son, Holy Spirit, live in them. And then it says it again. It's so worth, I mean, Holy Spirit activation power. You want that, you want to grow. You anyone who doesn't obey me doesn't love me. Then you lesser things will be revealed to you. Yeah, the more you give up yourself, the more will be revealed.
SPEAKER_00Much is given, much is required.
SPEAKER_01And it continues on. And remember, I'm not making up this answer to your question. It is an answer given by my father who sent me. Because remember, Jesus says, I do everything that I see the Father doing. They're three in one. God, omnipotent, creator of the universe of all things, came down to dwell with us as a human being in a encapsulated body and a body of skin and flesh. That's Jesus, and he's doing everything that he sees God doing. They're three in one, and the Holy Spirit is the power that dwells with inside of Jesus, who does all of these greater work, these great works, the miracles, the raising from the dead, the healing the sick, the blind, the casting out demons. Jesus said we will do greater works than him. So that means we can cast out evil spirits and raise people from the dead and heal people. And well, then we're gonna get into um in next episode of the gifts and why why we aren't seeing that power and how it's faith. Anywho, let me keep going on this one. This is 25. I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. So Jesus is speaking this to the people because he's still there. But when the father sends the capital C comforter instead of me, and by the comforter I mean the Holy Spirit, he will teach you much as well as remind you of everything I have told you. So when you forget, you have a person who has the whole entire rule book inside of you reminding you so you have the answers to the test before you actually take them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I'm thinking about how all of the wisdom that was in, you know, it's a never-ending understanding of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. And I think about the story of Nicodemus, how he was trying to explain to this very intelligent man. If you read the Bible, I hope you know who Nicodemus is. And Nicodemus was definitely like, there's something about this person, there's something about this man. And so he asked, you know, he wanted to sit down and talk with him.
SPEAKER_01Talking about Jesus.
SPEAKER_00Sit down and talk with Jesus. And Jesus explains to him about being born again. And I think about how the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus when he was baptized in the water, the spirit of the dove ascended above him, and just thinking about the conversation. And Nicodemus is like, Well, how can I be born again? I can't go into my mother's womb and come back out. And it's just like these are conversations that seem like, well, yeah, duh, no kidding, Nicodemus. But like you may be wondering the same thing. And it and here it says, No, uh, this is John 3, 13 no one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the son of man. And thinking about on earth, Jesus had Jesus and the Holy Spirit power receiving the wisdom from God, the Father.
SPEAKER_01What everything, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And that same power lives in you when you have the Holy Spirit in you.
SPEAKER_01Yes, amen. Because the Holy Spirit gifting that Jesus is talking about in John chapter 14, this is verse 27 now. I am leaving you with a gift, peace of mind and heart. I mean, who doesn't want a peace of mind and a peace of heart no matter what is going on in your life when it feels the most unpeaceful and unpleasant ever? You have that peace because you have the gift of the Holy Spirit. And it says, and the peace I give isn't fragile like the peace of the world gives. So it's not gonna, it's an ever-ending, always overflowing peace that surpasses all understanding. People are like, oh, what does that peace mean? What does it mean to surpass all understanding? Well, you know, people try to find quick peace of let me smoke this, let me drink that, let me hit up this girl, let me go by this thing. It's a quick piece, it fixes you for a moment, and then it's here one second and gone the next, and you're still stuck with the square one of I don't have inner peace. And so this is an inner peace that can't be stripped and taken away from you because he lives inside of you. And the peace I give you isn't fragile, so don't be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you. I'm going away, but I will come back. Over and over, Jesus is saying the same thing over and over in different areas of the Bible in different ways to other people because it's like, is it clocking? Are we getting it? Do we understand? And even more so, the understanding will always forever continue because the more you grow in Christ and the more the Holy Spirit reveals as you love and obey, the roots grow deeper. We talked about um John 15, two episodes ago of God is the Jesus is the vine and the father is the gardener. Well, the person pruning and doing all of these things, and what we're growing is the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Because we wouldn't gain any of that if it wasn't for his spirit. Left to ourselves, the default is envy, jealousy, gossip, that of the world.
SPEAKER_00Well, and I think we live in a world that lacks peace. Yes, because they lack God the Father, yes, Jesus, the Son, the Holy Spirit, the gift. And I'm reading in First Thessalonians, the Lord led me to that today because I was praying over my children, and he led me to First Thessalonians 5, and at 23, what you just said. Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. So it's God the Father, Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit doing the sanctification, not your mama, not your friend, not your Instagram influencer. It's the peace of God will sanctify you. And may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Blameless, abiding in him. If you obey me, you obey my commandments, like you obey my laws and my statutes because it is good.
SPEAKER_01Yes. I want to read that blameless part. 23. Okay. Because what that now, now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. Sanctification. You're continuously growing and becoming more and more like Jesus, not staying the same. God loves you exactly where you are, but he will not keep you the same. That is a beautiful thing. So, believers, if you are the same that you were 50 years ago when you met God, something's up. The Holy Spirit, you're quenching. That's a story for a different time day. And it says, May your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. How on God's green earth are you going to be blameless? It's not you, it is Christ in you. So when you are doing anything, even when you mess up, you are forgiven when you ask for forgiveness and go to the Father again and again and again.
SPEAKER_00Well, and the fact that you think that you messed up, that's not judgment or condemnation. That's the Holy Spirit saying, like, oh, here's a little reminder. Even if it's in a person that, I mean, obviously you're not gonna say it in haste, but let's say someone says something to you, like, oh, you shouldn't be da-da-da-da-da. It's like, if it doesn't bother you, if you don't care, if you're like, whatever, I don't care, that's because the Holy Spirit hasn't worked that part of you yet. And if it does irk you a little bit, or you're like, if it if it is attached to a person, just take it to God. Like, okay, they said this, it kind of rubs me a weird way. Holy Spirit, what does that mean? Is that you working in me through that person?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the Bible also says test every spirit. So just because somebody says something over you and they're a believer does not mean that that was God speaking in and through them. We're still humans that fall short every single day. The blameless part though, the only person who is blameless is Jesus. He died a life of blame because of what we've done. He died the perfect death that we could never do. So when you live this out, God doesn't see you or me, he sees the blameless lamb, which is Jesus. So it's not Sarah that he sees or Tina that he sees, or you, my friend, who he sees. It is Jesus. You are covered by the blood. That's why we can even have a relationship in the first place. That's why Jesus came. He tore the veil. There was a point, you know, Old Testament where they the dwelling spot of God was in this holy of holies, and one person could ever go in there. And now, because of what Jesus has done, the veil has been torn and everyone can accept and see and dwell and have we are now the tabernacle. There is no not a thing and a place you have to go. He lives within you.
SPEAKER_00So if you choose him, yes, and you know, you know people, yes, it is free will. You know, when people have chosen the Holy Spirit to live in them, it doesn't mean they're gonna be perfect, it doesn't mean they're gonna be sinless, but they're gonna want to sin less. Yes, and they're gonna want to fearlessly make known the wisdom of the gospel in their own lives and then project it out into others. It's the Holy Spirit projecting it out into others, and I just think it's so beautiful. And he tells us do not quench the spirit. He's basically saying don't don't shut Jesus out, don't shut God out, don't quench the spirit because he wants to sanctify you, he wants to help you, he wants to lead you in his path of righteousness, which is right judgment. Because if everyone just did whatever they wanted, well, that's kind of half the world right now, is everyone just doing whatever they wanted, anyways.
SPEAKER_01That's in judges, if you want to know, we are literally doing the same thing. But anywho, the Holy Spirit, he is working in and through everyone, and the quench is sometimes you get a nut like we have an agenda, right? Everyone, I have a to-do list, I have a plan of my day. But then if you're at a place in life where you're like, Holy Spirit, I have this going on today, and you already know this. But if there's something that you need to interrupt me for to do something that you have called me to, then Jesus take the wheel, Holy Spirit guide and lead. And so there is a time one of my um other one of our sisters in Christ, she's like, Yeah, this was not on my agenda, but somehow I ended up having a conversation with this person who led to this, that, and the other because divine appointments happen through an interruption. How many times was Jesus interrupted from going from A to B and X, Y, and Z was in the middle from A and B? There's always something going on that the puzzle pieces and the chest parts moving because God sees everything. So we just see from one step to the next, okay, I'm supposed to go to the grocery store today, but we don't know in between you going to the grocery store and you leaving your home what God's gonna have in store for you. That train that you have to wait for, that detour that you have to go through, that person who almost hit you, or whatever it may be, rejection is protection. Um, the person that you was spilling their whole life story to you at the checkout, and you're like, Well, I really didn't have time for this, but somehow you're still on time for the next thing that you had to do, where there's grace when you would go there, even though they said you must be on time, like that's God.
SPEAKER_00So, and I always think that the journey is the destination. We always think we got to get to the next destination, we got to get to the next point. It's in the journey that's the destination. And as you were talking about that story, in Holy Spirit gave me the wisdom of like how many people in our lives need to receive the Holy Spirit, right? There are unsaved people. That's why we haven't met the the bridegroom yet, because we as a collective whole are teaching people about the Holy Spirit that dwells in us with his gifts pouring out to other people. Does that make sense?
SPEAKER_01Yes, okay. We'll get into more depth of what the bridegroom and our bride, the we are the bride, the bridegroom will get into that in a little later, maybe even a different episode. But yes, equally yoked is where we're trying to head. And right now, the body, he's coming back for the church, he's coming back for the he's coming back for the bride. The bride is the capital C church, he's getting us ready. And how is he getting us ready? The Holy Spirit. So if we're quenching, we ain't gonna be ready. Yeah, and amen. And he knows when the perfect time is. Nobody knows. Jesus doesn't even know. Yeah, when the time comes, you you could see what's gonna happen. Revelation.
SPEAKER_00So I think about all the people maybe in our lives who don't have the Holy Spirit yet, and so we might feel defeated, or we might feel like, how do we even do this? How do we, right? Sarah gave great examples of on the way, the journey is the destination. And in again, first Thessalonians, it says, but we do not want you to be uninformed. So we like we as brothers and sisters in Christ, don't want you to be uninformed. And we also want you to not want, we want you to want others to not be uninformed, right? About those who are asleep that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. Our hope is in Jesus. If people don't have hope, it's because they don't have Jesus, and it's our role as brothers and sisters in Christ to bring others to Christ. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
SPEAKER_01Fallen asleep means dead in the Bible.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, yes, and it's our job. Like we're teaching you these things, we're teaching you about the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit is gonna fill you and pour out into others on your journey along the way.
SPEAKER_01And he comes bearing gifts, and this is the cool part about God is this is when he's like, Ask for all of them. Ask that you can't be asking for too much. He wants you to be consumed and want all of them through faith, receiving. Um, so the Holy Spirit has so much for you. And I ran into my own little, it wasn't even little, but at the time I didn't understand it. The quenching of the Holy Spirit. Um, take almost taking a Christian job and wanting to do something regarding um a Holy Spirit title for that, and it got turned down because it's well, what about all the people who don't believe in the Holy Spirit? Red flag, red flag, red flag. Because if you are a believer, if you are a Jesus believer, you believe in the Holy Spirit. It's God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. That is one thing that debunks somebody from like I don't know what Jesus you're following, but you made it up in your head rather than the Jesus in the Bible, because he's talking about it time after time, story after story in the Bible from beginning to end. In the beginning, there was the word and the word was God, but the spirit was moving over the waters. I mean, let's come on.
SPEAKER_00And to to what you just said, I received revelation. Like, if you truly believe Father, God the Father, Jesus the Son, Holy Spirit, and it's all activated, and someone comes into your presence that is not Father, Son, Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will not condemn them. So everyone is welcome in the kingdom of the Holy Spirit. So their understanding of what the Holy Spirit actually is, they don't understand because the Holy Spirit will love each person.
SPEAKER_01It's not He doesn't come to condemn. Jesus didn't come to condemn. People condemn. Well, I can't believe you. How could you do this? You can't do this because you did that. You should know better. Should, should, be, D, do, do all the things. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman, just like Jesus, and he's not gonna force you. Sometimes it's louder in your spirit than other times, but sometimes it's a quieter nudge, and you still have free will to listen or to not. And there's forgiveness in both. So in in it's everyone's journey, not knocking somebody because they're not where you are. It's loving people on the wherever they are at, and it's which is why the body is such a beautiful thing to be in community with others, in unity with the body, the capital body of Christ, because you can learn so much from people who have walked this journey further than you for their wisdom and see um more mature fruit fruit than where you are, because they've done this longer. They should have more at that point. And then the beauty of you know, live life forward, learn it backwards, turn around and help the person that you once were, because you now have the light for that end of the tunnel, and somebody else has your light for that tunnel, and it's the light of Christ in and through them. So if everyone has the light turned on of Christ inside, like think of a lamp. If everyone has it turned on, or think of a candle that's fired up inside of you, if it's always turned on in somebody in the body of Christ, then we are going to fire catches fire, it's going to consume, and now we have this booming fire of the Holy Spirit where the world sees that we're different because the light is shining so bright. I hope that's making sense.
SPEAKER_00The proof that I have experienced crucifixion with Jesus is that I have a definite likeness to him. That literally is gonna make me cry. That was a devotional that I had two days ago. When you are allowing him to live in you, his spirit is in you, you have no other option but to have a deep desire to want to love another person, no matter what they're doing. It doesn't think about it like this. You have, I'm just thinking of an example of you have this person who doesn't really know Jesus, didn't receive the love growing up, didn't understand, got into bad things, bad worldly things, like very bad, unhealthy, right? And so they're so filled with shame, right? And then you have the person who's shame is not from God. It's not, they don't have God, yes, they have him, but they haven't received him, accepted him. Then you have the person who's walked with the Lord their entire life, or most of their life, or a lot of their life, and they understand, but they haven't received the true gifts of the Holy Spirit, which we're gonna get into, and they see this person and they're like, ooh, they did this, they did that, they can't, I can't, how and they judge and they don't even realize the gift of the Holy Spirit that lives in them because they're so pharasidical of old testament ways that they don't look at that person and say, Wait, I'm filled with spirit. Spirit, God, what am I? How do I love this person who I have nothing in common with? How do I show them your love when I have never walked that path and I don't understand it?
SPEAKER_01The difference between the person who is like, how could they, as a believer, is they're wearing the lens of condemnation and law, and like they're not doing this law and they're not doing that law, they're not obeying this and not obeying that. Well, it's like, duh, they're not obeying. They don't have a love or revelation of who God is for them. So, how could you love somebody and want to obey them if they don't have a desire or an understanding of that they need a relationship with this Jesus dude? And so, our job as believers is never to condemn or judge uh it's discernment and uh uh. Loving that person where they are at through the lens of the Holy Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control, because love does not keep any records of wrongs. Love is patient, love is kind. That verse right there is used so much for weddings. I mean, it was used in mind, it is used in mine, it is beautiful, but it is for everything. If you really want to know what love is in any relationship, then love is patient. Love is kind. It does not brag. It does not boast. So think of your friendships. Think of your uh any relationship, whether it's for an acquaintance or your bestie for the restie. If it doesn't have those things, I challenge you. Is it even really love? Is the foundation truly built on love? Because love will request conquers all things and goes hand in hand with obedience. So it's a if somebody isn't loving, then they have a false uh realization of true agape, unconditional love.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So and you know, each each person, each believer has a different role in the church. We've you know, in the body, we've talked about this numerous times, the hands, the feet, the pinky shouldn't be if you didn't have a pinky, you couldn't do this. If you, you know, the big toe, that scripture. We've talked about this a lot of times. However, if this if this person that I talked about before, it's not their role, well, most likely what's gonna happen is they know somebody who has walked the achy path. They know somebody who has gone on that journey who actually understands what it means to be truly saved by the blood. You know, if this person never went through something super tragic where they needed to be saved by the blood, that in and of itself is a blessing to always have the father and never really truly have strayed in a big way. And then you have this person who's who's sick, they're doing drugs, they're selling their body, they're doing all these things. And so they can find and I'm it really is helpful if you're watching on YouTube. I mean I'm using a very uh physical example, and they can reach out to that person that they know that maybe they're like, oh, that person's kind of weird, but I know they really love Jesus. So, and and they all have their own judgment that they have to answer to the Lord for the words that they have spoken, but they can connect with that person that they do know that has gone that journey, or at least is equipped by the Holy Spirit, they've been equipped by the Holy Spirit to go and help and serve that person and walk up to them and say, Jesus loves you. And he's not always gonna be in a church, he's not gonna condemn you ever. He just loves you. That's it.
SPEAKER_01He wants what's best for you, and which is why the beautiful thing when the body comes together and they're in they're walking in unity and there's not discord in the body of like, well, and jealousy, because that's not love. So it's really checking where you are and where you are with the Lord, because you can't give somebody what you don't have for yourself. But the beautiful thing about the ripple effect and the light of the world, we all carry it if you are a believer. So back to that one person. If so, that person might not be that person that that one person needs to talk to, but that person knows it. It's like you're gonna do greater works than I could because you're gonna hit a different demographic than I am based on what you've gone through in your life, based on who you are, what you look like, how old you are, uh, male or female, all of the things. So you might meet somebody that we'll never meet. You're gonna talk to somebody that we'll never talk to. And so it spreads like wildfire when we all are operating in that Holy Spirit fire turned on to be a light that is on a lamp stand rather than underneath. I mean, could you imagine? If you put the Bible, also talks about a candle. Like we're lit like a candle, you put that on a table. If you put that underneath the table, it's going to affect in the very wrong way. It's going to catch fire and burn things rather than catch fire from one person to the next in an open area. It's going to destroy. That's what fire does. It's either going to purify within the fire or it's going to destroy within the fire. And you get to decide which one you want to be caught on.
SPEAKER_00And crazy because the light was the first thing that Jesus or that God created with his mouth. Yeah. He created light, and we are the light of the world. And I just I the Holy Spirit had me turn the page, and I'm at 2 Corinthians 4, and it says six, four, six. For God, who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts to give the light of knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. It's exactly like he spoke that as one of the first things he said, and then he filled the Bible with light. He kept filling it with light, and we humans kept putting it in the darkness, putting it in the darkness. You don't want to be the darkness. You want to be the light no matter where you're at, whether you're in one hand the Benny or on another hand the Jenny. Like the Benny and the Jenny both have a purpose. Are you gonna bring out Jenny's purpose? Or are is Benny gonna cover up Jenny's purpose by not bringing it out?
SPEAKER_01Yes. Um gosh, what I had left me. Essentially, in in the Bible, it talks about how you were saying not quenching, what was before that?
SPEAKER_00Read read that again. What I just read. Okay, I'm gonna go back to five because it's just so good. This is 2 Corinthians 4, 5. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants, for Jesus' sake.
SPEAKER_01Okay, yes, I remember because you're talking about the you're talking about the light of the world and darkness. The Bible says so clearly, multiple different areas and multiple different times of what does lightness have in common with darkness? So we are called to be the light, we are called to be different because people in the dark are gonna turn. Because if this room is dark and we have one light on, you're going to notice the light. Okay. So if the entire world is dark, but the believers are walking in light, they are acting different, they are speaking different, they are moving different because they are walking in the light. Darkness is going to turn and be like, there's light somewhere because you can't just not see it, or it's going to blind them wherever they are at. I it's just so crazy, crazy.
SPEAKER_00It's amazing how everything just keeps linking. Like the more you read, the more I'm like, it's in this book, it's in that book. Like he's intertwining everything, and it's so powerful that he has so many promises in this book. And honestly, a lot of it goes back to the Holy Spirit, which would make sense because Father God, Jesus, our Savior, the Holy Spirit, our helper, our comforter. And it all goes back like to the Holy Spirit and what he is doing, the gifts he is giving us within ourselves to pour out into other people. And it's what we're here for. It's our purpose, it's what God created us for. It is the gift of God, it's the gift of Jesus who created it for us.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Amen. We gotta wrap up, but uh, we I think it'd be a disservice if we didn't just read the scripture and please do it on your own. We all have different versions of the Bible, but also the Holy Spirit will give you revelation while you read and not just me reading for you. So this is John. I love Bible studies with you guys, Fearless Queens. This is just so much fun. I hope you're having fun too. Anywho, to wrap this Holy Spirit sesh up, John chapter 17. I'm gonna start at verse number nine. And I'm just gonna go all the way through, and I know the Holy Spirit will prompt us to stop when needed.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so before you read, I want you to think about this one sentence, okay? Wow. His complete and effective divinity to live the life of the Son of God in human flesh. And here's how we do it.
SPEAKER_01Yes. So my plea is not for the world, but for those you have given me because they belong to you, and all of them, since they are mine, belong to you, and you have given them back to me with everything else of yours, and so they are my glory. So we're talking about the difference between believers and unbelievers.
SPEAKER_00Are you reading about the gifts?
SPEAKER_01No, no. So now I am leaving the world, this is Jesus, and leaving them behind and coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your own care so all those you have given me, so that they will be united just as we are, with none missing. So he's saying the Father, Son, Holy Spirit united. He wants the body of Christ to be united just like they are. That is the goal. Father, son, Holy Spirit are united. Jesus sits at the right hand of the throne in heaven, waiting to come down. He's waiting for the bride to be ready, to be equally yoked with him. And until then, we're in preparation. We're in uh the battle is already won, but we are making heaven crowded. That's what we're doing. Learn, do teach. How could you keep these things to yourself when you know Jesus? It's not something to be hidden under a lamp, it's something to be lit up. He's the light of the world, and in turn, so are you. All right. So during my time here, I've kept safe within the family. All of these I have gave you. I guarded them so that not one perished except the son of hell, as the scriptures foretold. And now I'm coming to you. I have told them many things while I was with them so that they would be filled with my joy. I have given them your commands, and the world hates them because they don't fit in with it, just as I don't. That's why, believers, sisters, brothers, when you start getting hate, you're doing the right thing. If you're getting hate for doing the good works uh in faith, especially from believers within the church. Yes, it's wolves in sheep's clothing, or it's father forgive them for they know not what they do. So don't harbor that because it's not yours to keep. It is justice will be served. You have to make an account for everything you will say and do on earth, not for that other person. So this is moving on. This is um verse number 15 in chapter 17 in John. I'm not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from Satan's power. Because remember, Satan is the ruler of this world, he is the prince of the world. He's coming down like he's searching like a roaring lion, waiting to still steal, kill, and destroy. He speaks lies.
SPEAKER_00And it's crazy to think about in the scripture where it says the the world is coming, the the evil of the world or something along those lines is coming to get me. Jesus said something of those lines. I just read it. And it's it's crazy because he used a friend, one of his friends, who he like resided with, he used the church, the Roman church, like the leaders, the Pharisees, the different people, like the things of this world, his own people killed him. Right. The things of this world are coming to get me. And we, as sisters in Christ, to another sister in Christ or brother in Christ, are trying to prepare you for what's to come.
SPEAKER_01Yes, we're called to get ready, put on the armor, put on. We've talked about that so many times. Clothes in your closet that you're wearing right now didn't just jump on you. You had to put them on. So God wants you to take off yourself and put on him. So let's keep on keeping on. Um, this is verse number 16. They are not part of this world anymore than I am. Make them pure and holy through teaching them your words of truth. As you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. So if you are still alive and breathing, you have a purpose here. Don't let the enemy tell you that you have no worth and that there's no point for you to be here. The point for you to be here is to shine the light of Christ, for somebody else to see, to stop being in the darkness. Because again, you're gonna reach people that we will never meet, that we will never that we couldn't reach, even if we did meet them. And continues on. And I consecrate myself to meet their need for growth and truth and holiness. I am not praying for these alone, but also for future believers who will come to me because of the testimony of these, which is why that's so important to speak all the time, live in the goodness of God of what He has done for you. So others want what you got. You have this beautiful, amazing gift. It's you're called to share it. It's selfish of you, it is worldly of you to keep all of these things that God has done for you by yourself. And if you are a believer, you just can't help to talk about it. And that'll be the enemy trying to steal, kill, and destroy what he has done through you of like, you don't need to tell somebody that you've talked about that so many times. They don't need to hear all about you. Like, those are the lies that are whispered into your subconscious and rebuke them. We talked about taking thoughts captive. If they do not obey the word of God, then they are not from God.
SPEAKER_00Your testimony does matter. Revelation, the last book of the Bible, 1211. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
SPEAKER_01So 21, amen. Testimonies. Say them. That's why we have people on here sharing their testimonies. It's a powerful thing. Um, verse 21. You guys are doing awesome sticking with us. Um, we're almost there. So, my prayer for all of them is that they will be of one heart and one mind, just as you and I are. That is the ultimate goal for the body to work as one mind, one heart, just like Jesus and the Father through the Holy Spirit. What verse are you in right now? I'm in 27 in John chapter 17. Says that just as you are in me and I am in you. So chapter 18. No, 17, verse number eight, verse number 21 right now.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01My prayer for all of them is that they will be of one heart and mine, just as you and I are, Father, that just as you are in me and I am in you, so they will be in us, and the world will believe you sent me. Because again, it's not Tina and Sarah, it's Jesus and Jesus. Like, literally, we're all representing Jesus. We and and a lot of times, many times, and I know I've personally done it myself. We misrepresent Jesus. So people are like, Well, why do I need that Jesus dude? That girl's drinking, that girl's still living with her um boyfriend and having sex before marriage, that person's still doing drugs. It's because people are still human beings and we are sinners who need a savior. So, our goal as you continue to grow in Christ is you become more like him. So your um representation of him is accurate for an unbeliever, for somebody who's still living in the darkness. And they're like, How did you overcome that? How are you not doing cocaine anymore? How did you get out of jail and stay out of jail? How are you not stealing anymore? How are you not um cheating anymore in whatever it is? And it's like, well, it's not me, it's Jesus in me.
SPEAKER_00It's the Holy Spirit sanctifying you.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Um, verse 22, we're almost there. You guys are doing amazing. I have given them the glory you gave me, the glorious unity of being one as we are. I in them and you in me, all being perfected into one. So that the world will know you sent me and will understand you love me as much as I'm sorry, and you will understand that you love them as much as you love me. God loves you so much, that's why he sent his son to die for you. Father, I want them with me. These you've given me so that they can see my glory. You gave me the glory because you loved me before the world began. Oh righteous father, the world doesn't know you, but I do. And these disciples know you sent me. So we are disciples. We know Jesus, and Jesus knows the Father. So to know all of that, it's through Jesus and through his Holy Spirit who dwells inside of Jesus that we now have that gift. It says, very last one, you guys 26, and I have revealed you to them, and you will keep on revealing. So keep on. So it's never that we get to this place where we're not gonna be revealed anything any longer. I mean, this is you know, April of 2026. In 2029, I hope I have more revelation of the Holy Spirit than I do right in this moment because it says he's gonna keep on revealing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's like, oh, I've walked with Jesus for 50 years. No, you've walked with Jesus for one year 50 times. Yes. You want a lot like you want to walk with him thousands and thousands of times and journeys and stories and testimonies and revelations and learning and yes, again, it's don't stay the same.
SPEAKER_01God wants to prune and mold and refine until your time is up. And that is when he knows that you're gonna leave this earth. But until then, you got a mission and a job to do.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_01So that is why he keeps on revealing so that you, so that the mighty love you have for me may be in them and I in them. Again, it all goes back to love because if you love, you will obey. And the more you love, the more you obey, the more you are molded and pruned into the image of Christ. And then when we all look like we are prepared and look like Christ, then we can, then the end of time will be here. But that is for a different episode. We have taken up a lot of your time. Thanks for staying with us. I hope this made sense. Holy Spirit, I pray it made sense. Yes. And just do what only you can do in and through each one of these listeners today.
SPEAKER_00I think the Lord will reveal through his Holy Spirit what you are uh what you are about to receive within your heart, your mind, your body, and your soul for him to take over. Anything that is not from the Lord that you receive, may it be wiped away and you are only filled with him. Open your Bible, read it. It's powerful, it's beautiful. Stay in community and let him mold you, let him change you, let him fill you. And in the coming weeks, we're gonna talk about his specific gifts that he has given us in the Holy Spirit, from the Holy Spirit, God the Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
SPEAKER_01Yes, because you're a gifted human being.
SPEAKER_00You are. You it wait till you hear about the gifts he has for you. That's beautiful.
