Can God still perform miracles today?

In this Fearless Friday episode, we conclude our Spiritual Gifts Series by discussing the gift of miracles and the incredible ways God continues to move in and through His people.

Together, we explore biblical miracles, personal testimonies, the power of faith, and why every spiritual gift points back to Jesus. We also discuss the importance of love, community, and allowing the Holy Spirit to work through us for the building up of the Body of Christ.

From Moses and the Red Sea to David and Goliath, from Paul’s ministry to modern-day testimonies, this conversation serves as a reminder that God is still working, still healing, and still performing miracles.

If you've ever wondered where miracles fit into your faith journey, this episode is for you.

It's like when they did a study however long ago, the p the possibilities of you being born at this time with with the parents you have in the life that you have is one in four hundred and forty-four trillion. I'm sure it's gone up because since I heard that it's been 10 years. So don't you think you were creative royal for such a Hello and welcome to another incredible Fearless Friday, my sisters and brothers. This is gonna be incredible. I am one of your hosts, Tina.

SPEAKER_03

And I am Sarah. Today we are wrapping up the spiritual gifts with that pretty spiritual bow. And um, we're just gonna do a mini recap and we're gonna go into the last one that we have yet to touch on, and that is miracles.

SPEAKER_00

And the cool thing about miracles, like only God could have planned this so perfectly. Every gift we've talked about has miracles within them. Yes. And so we're gonna wrap like she said, wrap it up with the miracles because they're happening all around us. They've been happening since the beginning of time. And so here we go.

SPEAKER_03

Here we go. I want you to think about this all being presented to you with the bow that says Holy Spirit activate all over it. That's what that ribbon says. Yes, yes. So we're gonna start um in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, verse 27 onward. It says, All of you together are Christ's body, and each of you is a part of it. Here are some parts of God has appointed for the church. And this is in the New Living Translation. Says, first our apostles. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. I'm sorry, everybody, my thing just went away. You know, I could just read it in the Bible. First Corinthians chapter 12, verse 29. First Corinthians.

SPEAKER_00

I'll read here. Are all apostles, are all prophets, thank you, are all teachers, do all work miracles, do all possess gifts of healing, do all speak with tongues, do all interpret, but earnestly desire the higher gifts, and I will show you a still more excellent way.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, perfect.

SPEAKER_00

He wants us to desire the gifts, he's given them to us the day we were born, and we choose life the day that we allow him to enter into us through baptism, sanctify us, and change us by the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

If you are a believer and you are walking the narrow path or you want to know how to walk the narrow path, earnestly desire the spiritual gifts. He'll fill you with wisdom, discernment, revelation, knowledge, which is Ephesians 1:17. He fills you with all the gifts, the their power for testifying, for building up the church, for creating and helping build the bride of Christ.

SPEAKER_03

Amen. And so testifying would be through that healing, that gift of faith, and the miracles because somebody testify. I mean, you see somebody who was once one way and they were lame and maim and all the things, and now they're healthy, walking like it ain't nobody's business. Something happened, and that's a miracle and a gift of healing, all yeah, intertwined.

SPEAKER_00

I think about Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. It was the miracle of healing him, and then everything that happened preceding that. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Um, so 1 Corinthians 12, all the way down to ending in 31, it says, Let me show you a way of life that is best of all. And so we couldn't finish this series without talking about love either, because that's the greatest gift of all of them. If you have all of the gifts, but you don't have any love, then it's pointless. So it says, if you could speak this is now 1 Corinthians chapter 3 13, verse number one. And you've heard those parts of this in probably any wedding you've ever gone to, whether they are believers or not, which is crazy. It is crazy.

SPEAKER_00

But is it?

SPEAKER_03

You can't get away from the Lord. You just can't.

SPEAKER_00

You can try, but you can't get away from him.

SPEAKER_03

No, you can't. He loves you.

SPEAKER_00

He's a gentleman waiting to love you as yes. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

So if I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but I didn't love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clinging cymbal. I just read that one last night too. If I had the gift of prophecy and if I understood all of God's secret plans and possessed all the knowledge, and if I had such faith that could move mountains, but didn't love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it. But if I didn't love others, I would have gained nothing.

SPEAKER_00

Wow. I think about how we've talked about how we talked about false prophets, how we've talked about people within the church body, and how they can present themselves as a leader, a teacher, a server, all the things, but God wants your heart. God wants your heart. We have a podcast on Check Your Heart.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, where's your heart? Something along those lines.

SPEAKER_00

And that's what he wants, and that's what he desires, all of you. And it's not a conditional thing, which I think is so beautiful. We often think of love in conditions, like if you do this, I'll do this. Your kids, if you do this, I'll do this. I realize at way too late of an age that my son would be like, Well, if I do this, can I have this? I'm like, oh, more is caught than taught. And there is some level of that that that the Lord does lead and guide you in this.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, because every action has a consequence.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. And we do have free will, right? There's there's two decisions. Do we choose the one that's death or do we choose the one that's life? So obviously, if we choose life, God fills us with the abundance of these gifts. If we choose to allow the Holy Spirit to live in us, we are gifted with these, the with the gift of healing, the gift of power, the gift of miracles.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

But if we choose death, it's destruction.

SPEAKER_03

Amen. And so the reason behind having this, there's two sides to the gifts. One is the prophetic side, and it helps build the body of Christ up, and then the other one is power, and that is to testify. And uh essentially, you are reaping what the prophetic builders are sowing because you know, if you're building something, there's an end product. So if you're a gardener and you're sowing seeds, you're going to reap a harvest. So whatever you are sowing, you are going to good or bad, reap. So the power is healing, miracles, the gift of faith. It's showing other people who might not might not yet know God the way you do, or the way we do, or that you they want to know more. They can see it. There's something different. I'm thinking about um the woman we talked about last week, the issue of blood, or Mary. Mary was very close to Jesus, but before she was close to Jesus, she was possessed by seven demons and was a totally different person. I believe she was a prostitute, and so she didn't live that way anymore once she encountered Jesus. How how we don't talk about this woman, Mary, that is in the Bible because she was this way and stayed that way. She was no longer a prostitute or possessed by seven demons after meeting Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

She was the first one Jesus came to after he rose from the dead. Yes. Which is just like crazy. How could we not talk about her?

SPEAKER_02

It's also woman. Okay. The helper of Jesus.

SPEAKER_03

Amen. Yes. And so, and now I gotta take it to the Old Testament because Father, Son, Holy Spirit, three and one, everything always points back to Jesus. This entire book, whether you're in the old or the new, God was doing miracles in and through his people, even though the Holy Spirit didn't dwell in them yet, there were certain people that he would have the power go in and through. Because remember, the tabernacle is where God's presence lived, and only one person, one time a year, was able to go in the tabernacle to that special dwelling place. And if other people got close to it, I mean they would drop dead because the presence of God is just so overwhelming that we are just unworthy, we are filthy rags compared to the light and brightness and perfection of God.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and think about it. I love that analogy and that description because I think about Revelation where it says they have overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and the power of the testimony. And think about how many testimonies you have heard of people having miracles happen in their life and your faith is built up because of what you have heard. It's like, hello. Yes. How can you not believe?

SPEAKER_03

That spiritual gym is what this Fearless Queens podcast is all about. Getting you fit in the spirit. Yes. And then if you come to our pop-ups, we'll get you fit in the you know, physical.

SPEAKER_00

Pilates and praise, dancing and praise, all the things.

SPEAKER_03

All the things. Thank you, Jesus. He's so good. He is so good. We were talking about the Old Testament though and the miracles that happened. I think about Moses.

SPEAKER_00

I think it's only by a miracle that we are sitting here today. I was thinking about the invitation we both got from Gary. I was thinking about how you came up to me. Only only by God was it a miracle that you that we both decided on whatever day that we were gonna get our butterfly tattoos. Like, just think about the miracles within our lives, our meeting, being here in this place, having this space provided by a church that you don't even go to. And but that's the church being the church. It's just like miracle after miracle after miracle. I mean, and this is just our life, a little snippet of it. So let's go to the Old Testament.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Also, you are a walking talking miracle too, because you'll I said this before, I'm gonna say it again. You ran, you won the first race you were ever a part of.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And life don't just happen.

SPEAKER_00

It's like when they did a study, however long ago, the possibilities of you being born at this time with the parents you have in the life that you have is one in 444 trillion. I'm sure it's gone up because since I heard that, it's been 10 years.

SPEAKER_03

So don't you think you were created royal for such a time as this?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

It's not by happenstance or coincidence. Those are God, holy woes, divine appointments that He has set you up for.

SPEAKER_00

You are a daughter or a son of the Most High God, creator of the universe. You are a miracle.

SPEAKER_03

Amen. You're a miracle, even if you're not, you just don't know it yet. Yes. And we want you to know it so you walk in it because you have an authority because you are gods.

SPEAKER_00

Walk it like you talk it.

SPEAKER_03

Amen. And so we want you to have that godly confidence, not the boastful confidence that the world says to have, that godly confidence that says, No weapon formed against me shall prosper, not because of anything that we can do, but any everything that he can do. So I'm thinking about Moses and that Moses had Aaron. Thank God we're two of them together. You know, Tina and I have one another. We pray to God you have somebody that in the physical realm, if you're watching us and you're far from where we live, that you have somebody that's like your Aaron, that's like your Tina, that's like your um Joshua and Caleb, whatever it may be. So I'm thinking about Moses, and he God did great miracles through him. First of all, it was a miracle that he was even alive to be an older man because at the time he was born, there was a genocide going on. Do you think that's a coincidence? Absolutely not. There was a genocide going on when Jesus was born. How much greater is the genocide going on now in mother's wombs? That's the most dangerous place to be right now, unfortunately. That's sad. It is. There's a problem, and I'm we're calling it out up in the Fearless Queens because we're fearless in Christ, okay?

SPEAKER_00

We pray for the miracle of life to be lived to the fullest in Christ.

SPEAKER_03

And so Moses as a baby was taken up of from the Nile River and didn't drown. Like all miracle after miracle of healing, of faith, of there's a such a time that he was born for prophetic teaching and he was able to be nursed by his own mother. Yes, and she paid for it. You gotta you gotta read Exodus, you just do, and Genesis. Um, but with that, Moses becomes um second in command under Pharaoh and then flees, and then God talks miracle, number one, God talks to Moses through a burning bush. Gets his attention because this bush ain't this bush ain't burning everything around it. It is just burning the bush, the consuming fire. Because fire is dangerous, but if it's consumed, you know, we want to light one another up on fire for the Lord. So you're either gonna catch the fire or you're gonna burn in the fire.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and I even think about times when I mean I heard a story of a of a youth group. They were having a youth group in this barn, and like the next day it caught fire and like burned up, and they were just providing their space, but like the two things that were like unscathed was a Bible and a Christian sign on the wall. Like, you think about being burned all around you. Like you maybe were involved in something where it's either literal or figurative burning and you weren't destroyed, or something around you wasn't destroyed. That's a miracle. That is much like the not exactly like the burning bush. I don't want to relate that, but think about it because we have to think about it in terms of our own life too. We've been in situations where we feel like we're in the fire.

SPEAKER_03

I want to go to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendigo because they were put literally put in a fiery furnace, turned up notches higher because of the anger that was within the person in charge at the time, and there was another in the fire. There was another one in the fire. It wasn't just three people. They saw, they're like, didn't we only throw three people in? And there's they were like, We see a fourth man in the fire, and that is Jesus standing. And this is Old Testament, so Jesus isn't even on the scene yet. And so literally, he's standing there, you know, with them, and they aren't touched, they aren't burned, you wouldn't even have known, they didn't even smell like fire, and they got taken out of the fiery furnace, and when they opened the door, the guards that were standing in there were burnt up in flames because of how hot it was.

SPEAKER_01

I did not know.

SPEAKER_03

You need to be you need to know what side of the fire you're on to high key. Let me go back to Moses though. So the burning bushes here, me all of this is miracles, and so he's right. I'm thinking about the Red Sea, you know. Um, Pharaoh let the people go finally, after crazy miracles are going on, of these are the gods, capped lowercase g, and then there's god, and they're going back and forth, back and forth, and finally there is a um tenth plague that comes on the scene, and he didn't have to go there, Pharaoh didn't have to go there. He had nine other opportunities to not have the firstborn of every Egyptian killed. But because he didn't listen, time after time after time, God is so patient, he gives you warnings. Are you gonna listen? Don't let the flags get red. When you see a yellow one or like it doesn't look green, turn the other way. And so ask the Holy Spirit for direction, yes, re wisdom, revelation, and guidance. Yes, he's your divine counselor, utilize him. And so, with that, um, the uh Pharaoh's person, his son, dies. And so he's like, done with all these Israelites. He's like, get out of town, like let my people go. Yeah, he's like, get out of here. And so then he's like, wait a minute, I just lost all my slaves, go get them. So, you know, the army of Pharaoh's coming after them, and now the Israelites are like, What are we gonna do? There's a Red Sea, and there's the army that is coming after them, so it's looking like death on both sides. Perfect setup for a miracle because there's nothing else that these people can do. So what happens? God uses Moses, opens, like his hands are raised, and the sea is parted. And when this when it's not, down.

SPEAKER_00

And the chair like the it's I think I'm the when the when the they come after them, and once the once the Israelites get to the other side, the Pharaoh people are charging through, they get to the other side, and the water Yes, and Moses's hands are getting tired.

SPEAKER_03

So every time his hands come down, they're losing the battle. That's why I'm like thinking, I'm like, am I missing like am I stringing two things? That's why I like it.

SPEAKER_00

You might be, but either way, it's a miracle in and of itself. Everything has gotten just read your word that God did through Moses to help the people.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. So God gave Moses Aaron to help him along the way. And I really, this is like I need to go to that verse and that part, but you see what I'm saying? Same thing with David and Goliath. It wasn't, it was the faith that David had to kill this ginormous giant with a pebble rock because he had faith, and the miracle happened through David to kill this giant that everybody else was afraid to even touch. And David's like, Ain't nobody gonna talk to about my God that way. Get out of here, you dirty Philistine.

SPEAKER_00

And then um going on to Acts 19, I want to share this because everything that happened between with Paul before he was Paul and he was Saul, and going blind, we've talked about this before. I don't need to go too far into it, but that was a miracle, him being able to not only see again, but also know that he needed to choose the Jesus way and be filled with the Holy Spirit. But Acts 19, 11, it says, and God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul. And it wasn't one thing I think about in prison, it wasn't like they had the the power of flesh to get them out of prison, but it was the power of the spirit that worked through them in prison. Yes, and so Paul had Paul was given the gift of miracles by God, and it's magnificent to think about how you two remember have the same power that raised Christ from the dead living in you when you choose Jesus Christ and when he's living in your heart and you are experiencing his life in and through you. And it's this is like a recap of all of our uh podcasts that we've done within, I feel like the past year. It's all the things that God has shown us through people, through testimonies, through stories, through prophetic prophecy. Yes, all wrapped up into one, we keep saying wrapped up into one gift in this episode.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, thank God that he's just so good and I found it. So it basically what I was saying was like two stories in one. So I just want to clarify for you know clarification purposes. This is Exodus chapter 17, verse 10. This is when Joshua. So Joshua did what Moses had commanded and fought the army of Amal Amalek Amalek. Meanwhile, Moses, Aaron, and her climbed up to the top nearby hill. And this is where Aaron helped Moses. And it says, as long as Moses held up his staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage. Moses's arm soon became tired. He no longer could hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. They stood on each side of Moses holding up his hands, so his hands held steady until the sunset. As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalekite in the battle, and the victory was won. And then going to when Moses parted the Red Sea, when God parted the Red Sea through Moses. It says, Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the sea bend into dry land. The people of Israel walked. This is a miracle. I'm reading this whole thing because it's all just a miracle. The people walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground. There's not like a drop on the ground. It says dry. Not no like muddy water, not no sprinkle thing. It's you can't tell the water was there. Dry ground. With the waters, with the walls of water on each side. The Egyptians of all the pharaoh horses, chariots, and charioteers chased them into the middle of the sea. But just before dawn, the Lord looked down on the Egyptian army from the pillar of fire and cloud and threw their forces into total confusion. And they won. And then God told Moses, put your hands back up again after they all crossed, and the water just came down on the chariots and the army that was after the Israelites.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm thinking about the like it, how they just didn't even think, like, oh, the water's partying, I'm gonna go through it.

SPEAKER_03

And these people saw the miracles and they still were like, we miss Egypt. That's why God wants to take Egypt out of you, your old ways, what you're used to. Because they literally saw miracles. God were they didn't want to go anywhere without the presence of God. So he's like, Okay, fine, I'll have a cloud guiding you by day, I'll have a pillar of fire guiding you by night. Oh, you're hungry, let me give you this manna. Mana means what is it? It was this heavenly bread that fell down, and God told them, Don't get any more for tomorrow, get enough for today. Okay, and they still didn't do it. And then, you know, oh, we want meat, we're hungry still. Okay, well. Then here's some quail that falls from the sky. Miracle.

SPEAKER_00

Miracle, miracle, miracle.

SPEAKER_03

And then they're like, oh, we're thirsty. So he has Moses hit a rock and water comes out of a rock. Okay, could you imagine that kind of water fountain? A rock? Okay, crazy. Miracle after miracle in the Old Testament, happening in the New Testament. We said so many of them that were healing miracles last week. And then we talked about the miracles that are happening in today.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's just no, there's there, you can't tell me there's no such thing as a miracle.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and the reason why we're sharing this, so we the reason why we are so compelled to go through the different spiritual gifts is because the possession of them can either be something to be desired, as we talked about, or it could be something that people are gonna use for power, not in the power of Christ. And we want you to be informed, just like it talks about in the Bible, be informed of these things because somebody on a podium who is claiming the name of God and using their their human power to pour out these gifts and not giving glory to God. I do not want to see what happens to them on judgment day, but I want you to know that you have the same power that raised Christ from the dead living inside of you, and nobody is better than the next person.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we're just a nobody telling everybody all about somebody who saves souls, and the only person that does that is Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

And the reason why Paul says to earnestly seek these gifts is because it is building your relationship with Father God, with Jesus the Son, with the Holy Spirit. And then that is where the truth comes.

SPEAKER_03

And the truth will set you free.

SPEAKER_00

Amen.

SPEAKER_03

Hallelujah. Praise the Lord.

SPEAKER_00

This was a short and sweet because I think after going through all these gifts, you should get it. If there's any confusion, go back to the last episode because we definitely, definitely broke it down in depth and detail. But miracles and power kind of go hand in hand together. Yeah. Or mirror excuse me, miracles and healing. It is power. But miracles and healing definitely go hand in hand. So go back to last week's episode where it broke it down in detail.

SPEAKER_03

But we know that you get it because, and in those is the gift of faith. So all three are wrapped in what we call the power side, and then the prophetic side again is teaching, prophecy, tongues, knowledge, wisdom, discernment. Yep. Uh, and you know, they go hand in hand. You need both.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Um, and praise God that He is a God who knows what we need when we need it and equips us when we uh when we He wants to partner with us. So we pray that you want to partner with Him also to your fullest potential because the graveyard is full of untapped potential.

SPEAKER_00

So I we're I'm gonna end with, unless you have something, I want to end with Acts 20, 27. In my read it in your version to pull it up, but it says, For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God. We are not going to shrink to share with you the ultimate counselor, the divine counselor, the king of kings and the lord of lords. We're called not to shrink. And the only way we cannot shrink is by speaking the truth of the Bible. The basic instruction before leaving earth. The Spirit of the Living God breathed life into these words through men. Why would he not want to do the same for you? He does. He said it.

SPEAKER_02

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

What does your version say? Acts 2027.

SPEAKER_02

Acts 2027. You know, I think it is time to get this Bible, like I need a little TLC. 2027. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

We are saying, the word says, For I didn't shrink from declaring all God's messages to you. Let me back it up. Wow. Let me say plainly that no man's blood can be laid at my door. For I didn't shrink from declaring all God's messages. And then it goes on, keep reading your Bible. It talks about be sure and be aware that you feed and shepherd God's flock in his church, and it's purchased with his blood.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Not doing anything by your own because ain't nobody's blood gonna save you, but whose? Jesus. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Amen. Power and the blood. Acts 20, 26 in the NIV. Same thing. Therefore, I declare to you today. Oh wait, not that one. What did we say? 27. Thank you. For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Go and proclaim, do not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the living, breathing word, the truth, not your truth, but God's truth. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Have a beautifully blessed, wonderful, fearless Friday. And until next one. Bye.
